I figured as much. Is the variable you use for the returned unique ID initialized as zero prior to the function that picks the Adventure Digimon is called? Is there a conditional edge case in the randomized picking function where none of the available pool of Digimon are set as the return variable so the return variable returns the initialized 0?

Are you making up your timings for things like poop frequency, hunger, and strength (training vs vitamin which typically last different lengths of time on most of the vpets) or are you basing your timings on a particular v-pet edition?

you can charge the device during the day without needing to take care of it, with the benefit that it will also train your
Partner. However, after 4 hours you will need to give him some love.

I like this a lot. For the VB I just put them to sleep before charging but it's nice that this gets some actual benefit. Reminds me of NDS/3DS games that gave you things when the system was in sleep mode. If it makes a noise when the 4 hour special training is done you can use it as a timer for when it's done charging too.

Using isopropanol to soften the glue theough the cracks and pulling the case apart should be easy enough

Though gotta be slow and patient

The whole thing except for the screen can be trenched in isopropanol and everything would be ok

Just be careful while lifting the lid as the screen is connected to the pcb

Then it’s only a matter of gluing it back together

Don’t use any hard tools to force it apart or you will most definitely dent the case

How long does the battery last? I've always been of the opinion that the vpets should be small, like the current DMC or Tamagotchis, something that's a keychain or pocket sized that I can handle comfortably with one hand. I know the current PenC's last about 7 days on a charge which is roughly the span of one Digimon's typical life if you don't freeze it too much. But they have custom made hardware and can have finer control on their energy use. A fan made project will likely consume more energy and would need a larger battery to match that kind of longevity.

I think it’s fairly easy to open and glue back together bearing in mind the battery will probably last many years before replacing

lol last night i was trying to evolve into blitzgreymon for adventure mode but i guess it lined up with 2 other timed events at the same time.

what i mean by that is he was full energy and full evo timer and i was manually digivolving i made it one stage up and then the bed time hit 2200. I hit digivolve again he goes into skull greymon but it counted as a natural evolution droping my boy from level 9->1 while maintaining the same evolution line lol BIIIIG sad oh well we give blitz greymon one more shot and then we will see what poison does.

Ooh here's a fun idea if you ever feel up for it. You could add in an Evo items section for Spirit Evolutions, Armour Evolutions and other Evo items like the X evo chip. Could be fun! The Spirits and armours could work differently to the other evolutions by not overwriting your current line. The spirit evos should be easy as no matter what mon you have they'll evolve to the spirit that you chose. Fusion Hybrid spirit evolution could be done by using a special hybrid evo item could maybe be consumable? Same for hyper spirit evolution could be a consumable item that you can use if you have all the spirits needed unlocked. Could do the same again for Susanoomon. Armours would be harder, could limit them to being used with specific digimon to avoid giving every child lvl an armour evo for every digimental (unless you want to that'd be super cool). Idk what do you think

I think he had the opprotunity to go to tentamon unsure what the requirements are. Its never bothered me though. There is 300+ mons and only 8 eggs so some weird lines are gonna happen i think that is a bright spot on this device you dont know what your gonna get just by looking at a mon.

Time of day mater as well you have to do it before 12 I believe but you can just set the clock to like 8 or 9. Just make sure you are there in 4 hours or else you'll rack up the mistakes
