Woke up to it this morning, first time it's happened. Took out the battery and it stopped making the sound, so I put it back in. About 4 hours later it happened again, and I recorded just a bit before I took out the battery again.

Gonna open it up later and look at the board but has anyone had this issue before? I'm not sure if the speaker is going bad, the battery is about to die, or if there's damage on the board.

The speaker looks way worse on camera than it does in person, but does it look burnt?

There's no residue, only discoloration. I'm thinking it's the battery though, I put it back together and it actually died on me while I was playing with it, and that's when the buzzing started again

Probably tomorrow I'll pop a fresh battery in, and so long as it doesn't happen again I think thats just what an IC does when the batteries get low

The discoloration could be from the metal in the speaker coroding a bit, which might be a factor, but i'm not an expert, I agree it might be a good idea to change the battery to see if that's the case.

Clean the battery terminals, even if they look clean already.
