Help my DMX wont connect to others

strong burrow
#

are they not touching?

modest violet
#

not sure

#

lemme check

#

ok the back two are touching

#

but the front two arent

strong burrow
#

is one pushed in too far or do you just need to keep them together better?

modest violet
#

when i press be when connecting it stop for like 0.5 secs then keeps beeping

strong burrow
#

no "retry"?

modest violet
#

no

#

and for DMX its error but no

#

the front two seem to be pushed in

strong burrow
#

because it sounds like they aren't completing the circuit then

modest violet
#

yes the front two are not connecting

#

whats the fix?

#

has it happened to you?

strong burrow
#

if you have something to get under it and pull it up, that could work, but usually i'll open it up and bend the metal in a better way

modest violet
#

so

#

would that damage the inside?

strong burrow
#

would what damage the inside?

modest violet
#

opening it

strong burrow
#

not unless you personally damage something

modest violet
#

and what do i use to bend it?

strong burrow
#

or i guess if you are conducting a lot of static?

#

i just push on it with my thumb a bit

modest violet
#

ok

#

can you maybe send a pic?

#

for reference?

strong burrow
#

let me see if i can find a picture of some guts

modest violet
#

or any vids you know

#

ok

strong burrow
#

it could also be that it's just stuck under the little ridge

#

but i usually just push up slightly on the long piece of metal, just feel it bend ever so slightly and then see if it sticks out enough

#

and again, you're sure they aren't sticking out enough?

modest violet
#

which one

#

yes the front one on both my mons

#

So where is the other pin?

#

i just see one

#

oh on the other side

strong burrow
#

yes

modest violet
#

is the red thing a protector?

strong burrow
#

it'll be mirrored

#

you can see that from the outside actually

#

it's the plastic piece surrounding the pins

#

just part of the shell

modest violet
#

are there any vid tutorials on this?

#

and also can you fix it from the outside?

strong burrow
#

like i sai, you may be able to get something underneath the metal and pull it up a bit

#

but it may not be permanent

#

Since Wave 3 adds so many impressive and vast combinations and possibilities, I thought I'd give both a quick overview about how to take apart and safely customise your Digimon Virtual pet!
I'll also briefly go over the new wave's circuit board.

i think i used this video originally

#

i can't find any other pictures, but i could have swore i took some

#

if you want pictures of a specific angle i could probably just take a part one of my devices if you need them

modest violet
#

ok thanks ill tell you if i need to

modest violet
#

also 2 questions @strong burrow

#

1

#

is it easy to damage the it while doing this?

#

2

#

Have you ever damaged yours?

#

and also can you lose your save data doing this?

trail anchor
#

I haven't messed w/ the connectors before, but I've never damaged a vpet while taking it apart for customization. As long as you're reasonably gentle with it you'll likely be OK.

The worst that's ever happened is the screen not getting enough pressure and showing missing pixels when I put it back together, which was fixed by just... taking it apart and putting it back together again, basically

strong burrow
#

and taking anything apart has some risks, but just be sure to handle things properly, put the screws in a bowl or something to not use them, etc

modest violet
#

like the only risk i really noticed was the speaker wire in the vid

modest violet
trail anchor
#

Mainly just making sure the screws are all in properly, as that affects the pressure on the screen

modest violet
#

ok

#

and how strong is the speaker wire?

ivory pawn
#

You have an English device, there is no speaker wire

#

You also shouldn't need to take your device apart for any of this

#

If the connectors truly aren't connecting, grab a tiny flat-head screwdriver and just use it to stretch them up

#

Also share a picture of your device at this same angle, so we can see exactly what the issue looks like

modest violet
#

thx alot man

#

that saves me a lot of time

#

tried it

#

worked like a charm

#

thanks

ivory pawn
#

Glad to hear it!

strong burrow
#

i'm glad that worked and thanks for the picture humulos. i mentioned pulling it up, but i've also had problems where just pulling the contact up doesn't keep it from getting squished back down so i've had to actually open it up to push it up

abstract tartan
#

probably has to do with if it is improperly snapped into the plastic piece or truly bent down
