Model: Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 16IAX10H RTX 5090
Describe the issue: "Device ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired." Laptop tries to do start up repair, fails, then resets.
What have you tried already?: I couldn't get out of this cycle, so I ended up trying to restore a save point from about a week ago. The problem is that the device tried to restart again... which happened to be right after the restoration process had deleted everything and right before it had installed anything. I then used a media recovery installation from the microsoft website (the lenovo one didnt work for me, as I couldn't click and find the rmf file or whatever), and the issue persists.
When did it start producing the issue: I updated the nvidia studio driver to 595.79 or whatever the latest driver installation, after a few hours of use, the device could not detect the driver installation nor the gpu. Then I started receiving the message "video memory management internal" or something like that, which led to constant restarting and start ups.
Did you install new drivers or software?: Yes
Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue: yes, but very difficult.
I'm desperate because I'm a college student in CS, and my family is not that rich at all. I had to do a lot of convincing to get this laptop this January bc of my work in AI/ML/Robotics. I gave away my previous laptop for someone in need of it more than me, so I'm stuck with not much other than my phone and a borrowed laptop. I had a lot of research experiments and data that had not been backed up right before the issues started today. I'm panicking because I have several deadlines and group projects to do, as well as general coursework. I'm at a loss of what to do... I'm starting to think that it is a hardware failure. If it is, I'm not sure if I will be able to buy a new laptop in time... and I might have to drop out for a conference deadline that I really wanted to make. Any words would be nice, I feel so alone 😭.
