Model:
Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 10 (16ACH6H), Intel Ultra 9 275HX, RTX 5070 Ti, Windows 11 Pro

Describe the issue:
Laptop crashed while gaming. On reboot, got Windows “Recovery” error: missing or corrupt \Windows\System32\winload.efi (Try again / F1 Recovery / F8 Startup / Esc UEFI). “Try again” returned to same screen. Pressing F1 led to black screen; after force shutdown, system now powers on to black screen indefinitely (no Lenovo logo/POST). Fans never spin but chassis heats over time. With AC connected, it auto-powers on (still no fan spin) and will not stay off; when AC is unplugged it can be forced off and remains off.

What have you tried already?:
Power drain with battery disconnected. Reseated/removed NVMe SSD (no change). Reseated/removed RAM incl. no-RAM test (no change; no beeps/blink codes). Cleaned vents. External monitor test (no display).

When did it start producing the issue:
Thu Dec 18; no-POST started immediately after the Recovery attempt. Laptop received Nov 6, 2025. No prior crashes or hiccups. This is the first incident.

Did you install new drivers or software?:
No recent Windows/firmware updates. Only recent change: uninstalled apps via Revo Uninstaller on Mon Dec 15.

Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue:
Yes—attached video shows power LED on, black screen, and auto power-on behavior on AC.

I'd wait for an answer from experts but your BIOS probably got bricked, somehow. Might be a very unlucky case.

However, if you already haven't, I would try to leave the laptop turned on for more time, supposing it doesn't overheat too much. Let it just sit with that black screen.

Not sure if that model has a BIOS chip compatible with some BIOSes programmer like CH341A, but since your laptop is literally new, I would just call for warranty and explain the issue. They'll probably just replace your motherboard

I've already filled out a ticket on Lenovo support as I do have 1 year warranty on the laptop. Still awaiting a response.

I have tried leaving it on for an hour, but nothing changes and the motherboard heats up excessively. What I can do is sit it in a room with air conditioning and a fan and see if it stays cool enough to be left on for a few hours.

Otherwise, I'll just have to go to an authorized partner of Lenovo on Monday and fill out the ticket there.

I do think it might be a bricked bios or some sort as well. I did experience the same issue of no post/black screen, no fan spin but power button lights up on the legion pro 5i gen 10 as well (also a core ultra 9 275HX & RTX 5070 Ti) when I tried to force reboot my legion from sleep recently.

I think there might be at least two same issues of no post I saw on the legion Reddit involving the legion pro 5i gen 10.

What I did was went to the authorised Lenovo service centre in my area and they replaced my motherboard under the 1 year depot warranty.

Took it in to the authorized centre. They ordered the motherboard and are awaiting its arrival to replace the faulty one, under warranty
