Model: Legion Lenovo 5 (17ACH6H, 2022)
Issue: computer recently began to freeze/crash. Everything freezes and I can't do anything but hard reboot. When this occurs, lights from the external devices remain on. At times the computer reboots on its own instead of just freezing, but it's mostly freezing. At times it freezes right during the boot sequence and the Legion logo. Most times it still managed to boot into windows, but then it would randomly freeze crash, could be 10 minutes or 2 hours before a crash, random but inevitable. Been happening for around a week. No error message in the windows events log. But I did randomly get bsod with messages related to 'watchdog' (clock watchdog timeout and dpc watchdog violation).
Tried: Suspected it might something wrong with the ssd or the os. Crystaldiskinfo says drive still healthy but had few issues with failing sectors over time. I attempted chkdsk on system drive but it always froze before completion. I tried to format the partition and reinstall windows via USB media, hoping this would help determine if the issue was os or ssd corruption related or something more serious. The previous windows install has been deleted. But now it freeze crashes during the windows reinstall process and I'm stuck at this point, unable to complete a fresh reinstall. So the issue still occurs even via the USB windows install interface. I'm unsure what to do next. I'm still unclear if the issue is related to the ssd (that seems more unlikely now but could still be possible) or if it indicates a more serious hardware issue. I'm curious if this is a known issue because searching online was inconclusive but I've also seen similar queries questioning the bios, ram, motherboard. Edit: tried switching the ram and replaced the ssd, also tried installing Ubuntu, freeze crash still regularly occurs
Any help appreciated, thanks.
