Model: Lenovo Legion Slim 5 (AMD, RTX 4070)

Describe the issue:
After changing a BIOS setting (“Above 4G Decoding” which I disabled it), the laptop now powers on (fans/lights/keyboard work), but the screen stays black with no signal (also via HDMI). There is no Lenovo splash screen or POST. The laptop occasionally makes a clicking noise and shuts off the lights/fans in a loop.

What have you tried already?:

  • Full CMOS reset (removed CMOS and main battery, waited, then reassembled)
  • Power drain with long power button hold
  • Tried Novo button to trigger recovery (no display)
  • Tried key combinations for blind BIOS reset (no effect)
  • HDMI output to external screen (no signal)

When did it start producing the issue:
Immediately after changing the BIOS setting and hitting "Save & Exit"

Did you install new drivers or software?:
No, only a BIOS setting was changed

Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue:
Not really helpful in this case as my screen remains black with no output, but can record a video showing LEDs and restart loop if needed.

There's a reason why these advanced tab are hidden from users . People are dumb doesn't mean you'll blindly follow it .

#

There's always a risk touching advanced bios setting before you entirely sure of such options.

Yeah I realize it now I won't do touch it anymore in the future. Is there anything else I could do besides sending it in for a repair? I still have warranty on it
