Hi, I need help on my PC please. I have a lenovo legion 5 pro 2021, I recently took it to the technician to clean the fans and change the thermal paste. The check revealed that the right fan of the PC which should cover the GPU has a problem in the motor. It works badly and stutters, and after the PC is under load the motor starts pumping at maximum speed, letting out some hot air and then doesn't work again. This problem happened to me randomly the other day. I would like to know 2 things: 1) if anyone has had similar experiences/problems. 2) I would like to know if it is possible to directly change just one fan without changing the entire thermal module?
Thanks to those who reply and sorry for the inconvenience

this sounds like my problem couple months ago with legion 5 pro 2021 too https://discord.com/channels/761178912230473768/1216715831950704640
i ended up changing the entire thermal module since i still have a warranty
idk in your place but since us legion owner have the legion ultimate support, you can just give them a call and you will get your new cooling module less than a week, if you have that warranty of course
no unfortunately I no longer have the guarantee. What I was asking is whether it is possible to directly change the faulty fan without changing the entire thermal module
yes of course if you can source the fan, to replace the fan you need to remove the entire module but its not that hard actually
the module itself doesn't need to be replaced, just the fan
idk where to get only the fan tho, atleast in my place
so the fans, even if soldered to the module, can be detached, changed and reattached?
I was only looking for the fan on ebay, I just wanted to find the original and non-compatible one
huh i don't remember it was soldered, maybe someone who have more experience here can help
Nothing is soldered to anything. You’ll have to search Google for a replacement fan. Lenovo doesn’t sell individual fans for your model.
