Model: Legion Slim 5, Ryzen 7 8845HS, RTX 4070
Issue: A strange clicking sound happens only when plugged in, and only when in a game.
I have already tried opening the laptop up and looking for anything suspicious, but all screws seem ok and the fans were not the source of the noise.
This issue started the day I got the computer (5 days ago).
I have not installed any new drivers.
Attached is a video (headphones needed to hear the clicking).

thats coil whine. nothing you can do about it
Since it's new, best to apply for warranty.
Coil whine isn’t an issue and a new motherboard wouldn’t necessarily change anything. Also Lenovo techs would ruin the stock cooling. Using warranty for this is a poor idea
how loud the whine is can depend on the current BIOS. what's your current BIOS version?
don't update BIOS yet, i wanna know the version first
Hi, thanks for your replies! My current BIOS version is NRCN17WW
do you think it'd be feasible to tweak some settings so that the GPU runs similarly plugged in to how to how it runs on battery? A bit less performance but then I wouldn't hear the whine
is the whine even audible when the game is playing audio over speakers/headphones?
or over laptop fans
you can configure the GPU similarly to how it runs on battery, or heck to how it runs when a game isn't running. by turning the GPU off
with hybrid-iGPU mode
if the game's system requirements are low you genuinely might be able to get away with running the game on the iGPU
it's drowned out by the speakers pretty easily, but if you put your ear to the laptop you can still hear it a bit
