High Battery Discharge rate & bad battery life

Model: Legion slim 7 16IRH8 (slim 7i gen 8)
Describe the issue: battery discharge rate is about -20w at idle & while running youtube, at the same time cpu is about -5w

What have you tried already?: installed all of the related drivers from the laptop's page
When did it start producing the issue: after getting my laptop from service

Did you install new drivers or software?: yes, the default things (but preventing them from running on startup)
Discord, steam, epic Games, Drawboard PDF, Hwinfo, Bcuninstaller, whatsapp, Bitwarden, DefenderUI, HandBrake, OBS studio, Spotify

my config is Battery Saver On
Legion Quiet Mode
Hybrid-auto mode (gpu disabled)
60Hz

It’s all about what you’re doing on the laptop and the power being used

I just talked to Microsoft support and they helped me with solving the issue, which somehow helped solving the issue, but for some reason iam getting random BSODs so

The agent updated "Microsoft ACPI-compliant control Method Battery" Manually

Smol update, had to use system restore and undo everything, the issue yeaterday decreased to -13w from -20w

Still looking since the Total system power is only -6w

Yes, but it used to be -5 to -9 at idle to light work when i bought the laptop

both gpu and iGPU

hybrid iGPU only mode

Already in iGPU only mode, so dGPU is out of the equation
Haven't tried removing the intel graphics yet, but even if i did iam not sure that will have any effect since total system power is about 6 watts only

Can you show the full tooltip for total system power? There are some hits on Google about that not value not always being accurate too.

i also did a battery calibaration, i let the laptop die then charge it to 100%

quiet, power saver, hybrid-auto btw

total system seems to be mostly CPU package +system agent, everyting else is negligible, like Rest-of-chip which uses about 0.080w

Ya so you have to take into account, display, ram, and keyboard RBG, etc

Spikes are going to happen

I still see nothing wrong to troubleshoot

If you're really convinced something is wrong you can always clean install windows

GPU isn't disabled in device manager right? that causes huge power drain

this is the thing that caused the issue in the first place btw :), guess there was an optimization thing installed that really made the laptop efficient

well it doesnt show in task manager when i tested so iam sure it is also not shown in device manager

iam using a virtual machine rn so it wont disconnect if i tried rn 😶

Have you tried charging to 100% and then using it until it fully drains?

and by that i mean until the power button doesn't even do anything anymore

iam not that free tbh, i just rely on hwinfo's battery discharge, which is pretty accurate, also my issue lies up with the warning given in the comment above

my issue was having about -20w discharge at idle, which is about 4hr of battery life @ 80%

thankfully it goes down now but still fluctuates, also i remeber when i got the laptop it was -5 to -9w and gives me rating of 11hrs @80%

I still need to fully setup my laptop and do the testing but I’m averaging around 20-27 watts when using brave or edge with a few tabs or each

Fresh install of windows too so nothing else no discord nothing like that

it depends, on multiple factors, that is why i use Hwinfo to identify what is using how much

Mine also used to do around 6-8 hours. Now I get max 3 hours 😫
