Soldered on motherboard RAM disappeared 😦 . There was 16Gb last time i've checked...
This morning when I booted up my laptop, I discovered that some programs were shutting down due OOM.
Is this a common problem or am I lucky?
Model: Y9000X IAH7
What have you tried already?: Disassembled laptop, looked at everything, removed dust, closed the lid.
When did it start producing the issue: this morning
Did you install new drivers or software?: Nope

Unfortunately the RAM is soldered on the motherboard

there is a soldered dimm and empty sodimm

I think mine is somewhat different, because I can't see any free/occupied DIMM slots

its attached to the mb with solder joints

I had to rip off the duct tape + i cant fully remove this cover, but the ram is here, yeah

It works with stick inserted, but it is not detected. Gonna reinsert it
Well, I think it's dead. Reinserting it didn't help. I'll have to buy a new one. Thanks for the hint - for some reason I thought I had both of them soldered on mobo

if its under warranty, you can try that route
