I have the Legion T5 28IMb05. Yesterday I went to connect my headphones to my PC and it didn't work it didn't work on any of my bluetooth devices. This is the second time this has happened. Last time I was able to fix it after redownloading the bluetooth drivers for windows 11 onto my PC. I went into intels website to download the latest bluetooth drivers for windows 11. I then ran them and restarted PC and the issue is still there.

Are you sure you have an intel WiFi card?
I don't know what that is

Look up your WiFi card in device manager to task manager
You can’t just install any Bluetooth driver
It depends on what brand WiFi card you have
Under network adapters
that?
And i am on windows 11
Ya that doesn’t matter
Try uninstalling intel blue tooth from device manager. Click the box that says remove driver if possible. Then reboot and run windows update
You can uninstall this if you want.
that update?
I’m saying you can uninstall that intel software if you want. It’s worthless
Do this.
Idk what you’ve done then
i havent installed anything recently
this happened a year ago too and it just magically worked again after a month
In device manager click view>show hidden devices
See if it will let you uninstall Intel Bluetooth
is that the first one?
The one that says intel Bluetooth…..
Click the link box
Check box
.
Is Bluetooth in the task bar?
Install the Bluetooth driver from Lenovo support
do i run it first?
Please read what I wrote
i did
.
I misread this, but obviously you have to install the driver. You can’t just download it and expect it to do anything
bluetooth isnt even in the device manager like it was before
i dont get how its confliscting with other ones
Run that newer driver you had earlier then
says I have it on my device still
should I remove, reboot run and install this time?
Sure
its not working
is it in the task bar?
this implies that the bluetooth device is physically disconnected from the laptop
which is wacky given that wifi still works
its all of my bluetooth devices
i mean the bluetooth radio
what is that?
oh wait you have a desktop
yeah
the literal "bluetooth chip" in your desktop. that talks to all your bluetooth accessories
the desktop can't detect it anymore, it's as if you have no bluetooth support at all
yeah thats what it is doing
lucky for you bluetooth modules should be replaceable
how difficult is it to replace?
however i don't know where it would be.
go to https://pcsupport.lenovo.com and find the hardware maintenance manual for your desktop
also post your exact desktop model here so i can read the manual too
shouldn't be too hard, but might require connecting small parts. wifi modules can be bought on amazon for like $20
yep
found the manual.
i won't link it, you should practice finding it yourself on the website
okay
it uses the same wifi card module that laptops use
okay ill look more into it tomorrow
you can either get a direct AX200 replacement
buy intel's official AX200 kit
https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Wi-Fi-Gig-Desktop-AX200-NGWG-NV/dp/B085M7VPDP
okay thank you so much ill have to try that
compatibility with faster wifi routers supporting newer wifi
mostly for future-proofing. very few routers are wifi 7 or 6E and you might not even have a wifi 6 router
all wifi is backwards compatible
okay
if you are interested in wifi 7 double-check that the card will even fit your desktop. the slot is different for the BE200
ohh okay thanks for the tips
oh yeah one other thing to check is your BIOS, there might be a place to enable or disable bluetooth there
obviously if it's already enabled in BIOS then you still have to buy a new wifi/bluetooth card
The BIOS is in Device manager right?
no
the BIOS is the motherboard configuration, before you even enter windows
usually you can get into BIOS by mashing F2 F1 after power on
okay ill try that
Yeah I was able to get to Lenovo bios through window bios
I'm guessing SATA drive 1-4 hot plug support isn't what I'm looking for
Yeah I'm not finding anything about Bluetooth
huh
It should be in advanced right
hold on
lenovo has a BIOS simulator that i can use to browse a simulated version of your desktop's BIOS which is very cool
Oh woah
Wait is the upgrade cheaper than the replacement?
🤷♂️ guess so
Oh it's on sale
these are all 3rd party sellers, it doesn't matter who you buy it from
yeah, under "Connection type"
802.11ac is 5
802.11ax is 6 (or 6E, but your current AX200 wifi card doesn't support 6E)
802.11n is the one im on rn
or i can do 802.11ac
its like
i think my parents have had it since before I was born
well not necessarily ancient, 802.11n (wifi 4) is 2.4GHz, the router might still support 802.11ac (wifi 5) over 5GHz if configured right
but configuring the router is a completely separate problem
5ghz is shorter range
oh thats probably why then
it's faster than 2.4GHz if you're closer to the router
okay ill look into it more thanks for the help
