Conservation mode not working during sleep | Legion Series | Page 1

Model: Legion Slim 5 14APH8
Describe the issue: With Conservation Mode on, it keeps the battery charge within 75-80% when laptop is active, though it charges slowly to 100% when the laptop is in sleep.
What have you tried already?:

Soft EC reset (can't try hard reset as I don't have my tools atm)
Installing Vantage and toggling conservation mode from there, then fully uninstalled it and switched to LLT
Clean Windows reinstall, with latest drivers and installing LLT only
When did it start producing the issue: Noticed it a couple of weeks ago
Did you install new drivers or software?:
Latest audio, camera, card reader, amd platform, fingerprint, lenovo energy management, Fn and function keys, vantage gaming feature drivers
AMD Adrenalin 23.12.1
NVIDIA 546.33 (debloated with NVCleanstall)

Do you have the overnight charging setting enabled?

Well you could try a soft EC reset and maybe reinstalling the Lenovo energy management driver

oh yeah i forgot to include that in the post but I did try doing that a bunch of times before the clean install

one thing that i keep noticing when installing the energy management driver is this

dunno if this is normal, otherwise Device Manager says that the device is working properly

well for now i've done the soft ec reset and reinstalled the driver, i'll wait to see if it worked when my battery is discharged below 80%

yeah no that didn't work, a few hours later and its now charged at 85%

Well I don’t think there is much of anything else you can do. Maybe look for a bios update or talk to Lenovo if conservation mode is that important to you.

I think my issue got fixed by turning on overnight charging

Turning that on kept my battery charge at 80 throughout the night
