Hello everyone! I hope you are enjoying the Christmas brake, so was I with my brand new Legion Slim 5 14", with 32gb of RAM and a 4060.

I have encounterd this issue on two brand new models, since I sent back the first unit before getting a second one.

Whenever I open an app like Vantage, Chrome or pause a Youtube video for example, the screen will emit a very bright flash (see video). This issue seems to happen when I'm using hybrid mode for the gpu or the integrated AMD gpu only (i-gpu mode I think it's called), and does not happen when I'm only using the dedicated RTX gpu in d-gpu mode. Is anyone experiencing the same issue, or has had it in the past and knows how to fix it? Any advice is welcome.

Before sending back the first unit, I tried updating everything, changing refreshrates, screen resolution, HDR on and off, tried many settings in the AMD graphics software, and did a fresh install of windows, none of which seemed to make a difference. The second unit has the exact same issue.

I could use the laptop in d-gpu mode only, but this defeats the purpose of a portable laptop that may need to be used without charging for a long time, on top of the fact that I've never seen it happen on any other laptop and I don't think it's normal.

Any feedback is appreciated and if anything changes I will update the post.

If you want to use a different version than what you have installed, use DDU to uninstall. Guide in #1020285176531669012

Also try the one on lenovo support

@hard bobcat What bios version do you have?

I also report the same issue, and I believe the problem is caused by the BIOS update version MACN23WW, and perhaps even by version MACN22WW.

I am awaiting any resolutions to the problem, perhaps with a patch, and I will contact technical support by phone to inform them of the issue and describe my experience.

also try ddu and installing the amd driver from amd website instead of vantagr or windows first

#

if that doesn't work go to your flags settings of chrome and change the angle backend graphic driver to something else than D3D11. personally D3D9 fixed my but that varies i think

I solved the problem only partially. I followed the advice with Chrome, and now I no longer see the flash when I open it. I also uninstalled the AMD drivers with DDU and reinstalled them using Windows Update, but the flash is still present when I open the Lenovo Vantage program. Moreover, I noticed on the Lenovo website that there is a critical update related to the Lenovo Vantage program, but once I downloaded and ran the file, nothing happened.
