What have you tried already?: Tried turning off modern Standby.
When did it start producing the issue: While I am doing handbrake video conversions.
Did you install new drivers or software?: Fully up to date on all drivers.
Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue:

Yes it could be doing that if the laptop is not idle before entering sleep stage
Any ideas on how to stop that from happening. saw it reach 100C and that' doesn't seem good.
Nothing really
Close whatever is taxing the cpu?
Anyways the cpu can run at 100C
I have the same laptop and had the same issue
its because of modern standby
you will need to edit the bios a bit to enable s3 sleep state
after that, fans and CPU turn off when in sleep mode
https://www.reddit.com/r/ZephyrusG14/comments/xrkr8u/enable_s3_sleepdisable_modern_standby/ something like this
after tweaks
before tweaks you would not have s3 sleep
your issue is regarding the computer going to sleep and not just the display going off right?
keep in mind
not all drivers or installations will support that kind of tweaking to power sleep states
so you might not be able to wake up your machine or might brick installation
thats all
I recommended this as OP and I have the same machine
then you handle all issues if something goes wrong, okay?
i mean this was done by multiple people on the other server
i wouldn't recommend something that is not tested on multiple machines
okay, so handle it
there is always the risk so yeah do it at your own risk...or just use hibernate
I had this happen while doing a handbrake render and it sat for 15 minutes in "sleep" with the fans off CPU to 100C. why do they have this as an option?!?!?!
