Model: LENOVO LEGION 5 15ACH6H 82JU0033PH GAMING LAPTOP

Describe the issue:

I was working with my gaming laptop using Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel, all while listening to podcasts via Youtube in Firefox. I have a second monitor hooked up to the laptop (MSI G27C7 27in curved gaming monitor) via an HDMI cable hooked in a USB hub connected to the USD C Port of the laptop.

While working, my display froze for both the second monitor and the laptop monitor, only able to move the mouse cursor. While this is happening, I can still hear the Youtube video running. Then after a while, the Youtube audio stopped, and almost immediately after only the laptop screen was working with an AMD error pop up. I wasn't able to do much as the blue screen popped up and the laptop restarted itself.

After the restart, I was able to conclude my files weren't corrupted. However, only my laptop screen was working and the second monitor wasn't detected. I snooped around Vantage and it couldn't detect my GPU either.

What are the steps I need to do now to fix the GPU and afterwards my displays?

What have you tried already?: Did a few more restarts, hard shutdown, along with reseating of cables

When did it start producing the issue: Just now

Did you install new drivers or software?: My last update for both AMD and NVIDIA were around last 1-2 months

Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue: Wasn't able to screenshot the AMD error

I was able to immediately suspect it might be a GPU issue given the AMD pop up error before the blue screen, along with Vantage not showing the GPU in this screenshot. Also after the restarts. the AMD and NVIDIA icons cannot be seen in the lower right taskbar.

Does it show up in device manager?

Oh, it does. I enabled both GPUs and now my second monitor is working again.

#

GPU is now seen in Lenovo Vantage after closing and reopening it. I now do see a text I don't notice before and it says "unoverclocked." Not sure if that's an issue.

Ok. I wouldn’t be worried about that.

#

So your issue is resolved I suppose?

Ok then.
