Just installed a 4TB SSD and it is only showing 3.7tb

I just installed a new 4tb SSD and it says I have only 3726GB... Why am I missing 274 GB? SHould I request a replacement or is there something im missing?

this is normal

when they say 4tb, what they mean is 4,000,000,000,000 bytes exactly

and windows has this confusing thing where a kilobyte isn't 1000 bytes, but 1024 bytes (also known as a kibibyte)
