Model: Legion 5-15ACH6H, Ryzen 7 5800H , RTX 3060, 16 GB RAM
Describe the issue: My laptop often stutters/freezes for 3-4 seconds while doing mundane tasks such as watching videos or playing videogames, most of the time I can move my mouse but the screen just freezes during videos or game sessions, this issue occurs tons of times during the day, making the use of the laptop almost unbearable.
What have you tried already?: I have tried to rollback my BIOS version, updated ALL of my drivers, rollbacked NVIDIA driver, I also changed the power options setting to reduce the temperature, disabled the PSP in BIOS and did other tinkerings in BIOS to no result, also cleaned my fans and changed the thermal paste
When did it start producing the issue: Around 3/4 weeks ago
Did you install new drivers or software?: This issue started occurring after installing and using bluestacks while also playing other games, after I updated my NVIDIA driver and BIOS, tried to scan to scan for malwares but to no avail
Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue: EDIT: A photo showing the CPU spike when it freezes/stutters

Well, you turned off turbo boost, so the laptop will run slower when under load and it looks like you have quite a bit of load. Then there is the fact you have all sorts of stuff running. 232 processes. risitasnervous

Turn boost back on and remove some bloat

#

Oh I also see you have changed thermal paste. You probably used something like mx-4? You have made things much worse

#

You should ask for help before just doing a bunch of stuff.

The fact is , that these stutters started around 2-3 weeks after the cleaning of the laptop and thermal paste, I've turned off turbo boost after the laptop started freezing/stuttering , as I was trying everything to fix that. And also, I suppose the paste was of lower quality, rathe than the one used by the manufacturer. Regarding the processes, I'm pretty much using the browser (opera) , youtube music and bluestacks emulator, other than that, just the antivirus and other small apps running in the hidden icons section, it has always been like this

Fair enough, thanks for the idea, I'll make sure to get the paste asap and revert any harmful changes.

Hey, I would like to suggest something for you, can you try disabling FTPM in the BIOS? It is the AMD variant of TPM and it is known to cause stutter issues in windows 11 and late builds of windows 10.

I myself have tried this and got my sound and some visual stutter fixed.

Note: It is listed as AMD Security Processor Protection or something like that in the BIOS.

Please read carefully about the consequences of disabling TPM on your machine

#

Please note that this issue is only present in the AMD CPU Version only

Yes on games, not on videos unless maybe you turned on the windowed option.

what was the solution ? I noticed random stutter on mundane tasks on both my laptop and my main PC (AMD 5800X). but for my mainPC all i had to do was update BIOS. i havent use the laptop in a bit but it was stuttering like that when i was mainly on my laptop (everything is stock)
