#Refresh Rate (SOLVED)

Hi everyone, I noticed something when I'm changing my GPU mode in Lenovo Vantage or Lenovo Legion Toolkit

When its in dGPU mode, the refresh rate [Windows Settings > Advance Display] allows me to switch between Dynamic (83Hz or 165 Hz) with 82.50 and 165Hz, 3 options. While legion toolkit shows empty space (maybe is because of the dynamic refresh rate) with 5 options, 75, 82, 100, 120 and 165Hz

But when its in Hybrid/Hybrid-Auto Mode, the refresh rate is fixed at 165Hz. legion toolkit does not show up refresh rate instead, weird.

I'm a racing gamer/tuition teacher, so I hope while I'm gaming I'll plug-in to get maximum performance, with max refresh rate possible and while I'm working I'll use internal battery with battery saver and lowest refresh rate to conserve battery as much as possible. I do always need to change modes to suit my daily needs.

But since dynamic refresh rate is not available in hybrid mode, I use dGPU mode whenever I plug-in or use internal battery. But the battery still used up quite fast, even with battery saver on. (because I'm on conservation mode, battery capacity only charges up to 75-80%)

This is where the issue comes in, I'm not sure if it is default by Lenovo or its a bug yet to fix, why there's not an option to change refresh rate in hybrid mode. Lower refresh rate does save more battery life isn't it?

So please do help me if anyone knows this, thanks!

Guide to add refresh rate in #1020285176531669012

A quick question ya, the lowest default refresh rate is 82.50Hz, so if CRU I set it at 60Hz, will it kinda glitched the refresh rate and broke it?

rapid jetty

I'll give it a try later at night, cuz I'm working, anything I'll dm here ya. Thank you @sly timber and @lean bolt

Hi there yes it works, but i'm not satisfied with it, I would need to manually change the resolution. Is there anyway to make it automatic just like dynamic? Meaning when in charging it will be automatically in 165Hz while in battery will be automatically in 83Hz

sly timber
#

see if you get a dynamic resolution or not

rapid jetty
#

nope, tried it with 83 Hz

#

it only has the option of 83Hz or the 165Hz

#

when tried plug-in or unplugged no change on refresh rate

#

I mean maybe can't have the best of both worlds perhaps?risitascry

#

and oddly enough this so called dynamic is only available in dGPU but not in hybrid mode

sly timber
#

also use LLT

#

you can use LLT to switch settings, including performance mode, keyboard backlight, etc on the fly when you unplug or plug in etc

rapid jetty
#

igpu driver updated but unfortunately still the same when it is hybrid mode with 165hz

#

the plugin and unplugged wise worked perfectly in LTT

sly timber
#

Well, #legion-toolkit

rapid jetty
#

only the refresh rate

sly timber
#

Make Legion toolkit change refresh rate for you.

rapid jetty
#

but its not allowed to change when its in hybrid mode

#

only dGPU allowed

sly timber
#

Don't get it?

rapid jetty
#

yeah i get it

#

so i can only manually change it tho while in office 60hz and gaming change tk 165Hz

#

*to

#

that's only way i guess

sly timber
#

Get the LLT to change from 60 to 165 automatically when you are in hybrid mode?

#

It's not rocket science you know?

rapid jetty
#

yeah i understand, i just feel a bit disappointed where lenovo suppose to have a dynamic refresh rate not only in dGPU but should be available to hybrid mode as well

#

since yeah, you know hybrid mode to save battery smtg like that

#

but so far unless you wanna save battery especially when unplug the only way is to make it add option to LTT and change refresh rate manually in hybrid mode

sly timber
#

Anyways if you desperately want that dynamic refresh thingy, run reset.exe, maybe ddu the current igpu driver, then install newest igpu driver and add the 60hz mode back in

rapid jetty
#

hell wait

#

wait wait wait i try and see

sly timber
rapid jetty
#

i think i got so upset that my brain got haywire far a sec lol

#

but anyway I'll do it

#

@sly timber

#

I'm a fugging dumbass

#

yes it did work

#

so case closed

sly timber
#

You shouldn't spurge out next time

rapid jetty
#

seriously i did not know wtf is my brain doingrisitasnervous

#

anyway thanks a lot hahahah

Refresh Rate (SOLVED)

rapid jetty
#

and b4 I go, i forgot smtg to ask you

#

so how I make it automatically start itself?

#

I mean the CRU

sly timber
#

CRU does not change the refresh rate, it only edit the monitor infomation table.

#

Legion Toolkit is the one doing the change

rapid jetty
#

Cuz when I restart my computer a just now, the 60Hz disappeared from my LTT refresh rate and it shows empty box

#

I need to go to CRU to "enable" it only then it shows up

sly timber
rapid jetty
#

ahhhhhhhhhhhh

#

ok no problem then understand
