#Very bad Battery Life on my Legion 5 i7

Hey guys!
Ive ran into some problems with my legion 5 regarding battery life.
Ive got the RTX3060/ i7 11800h configuration with the big 80wh battery.

Regardless im only getting around 2 hours maybe 2.5 hours out of it even when doing nothing at all. Ive also realized that my idle speed is around 2000mhz which seems unusual even with ultra quiet mode enabled.
Ive had the laptop for about 4 weeks now and i didnt really realized how bad the battery was since i was using an omen 16 before where the battery was even worse
Ive already installed everything possible so better my problem. I installed the legion toolkit to assign the legion power plans ive installed, tried ultra quiet mode in my bios and to lower the allowed cpu usage over windows power plans. I also installed every driver listed on the lenovo drivers page to make sure i wasnt missing any from the factory. Nothing worked so far.
im currently on my 34th cycle with 78wh max capacity. (hybrid mode on ofc)

I would really appreciate help since i just abandoned my Omen 16 to run into the same problems again 🙂

Having LLT isn’t going to make your battery life better

You’re dGPU is likely awake causing the high power usage.

ive tried applying my physx to the cpu only and also choose the igpu as the main gpu for displaying

You can download hwinfo64, in the settings uncheck the box that says “poll sleeping gpus” then launch it with sensors only and look to see if the 3060 is using power.

ltk always states that my dgpu is inactive or off

It’s kind of a running joke. Some people do LTK some do LLT. I digress though.

I would guess your discharge rate should go down to around 10w if dGPU finally stays asleep.

i really hope so because im using this pc primarly for university and im constantly looking for options to charge my pc 😄

You can follow the guide in #1020285176531669012 about getting best battery performance, but no there shouldn’t be anything in bios that would help

Did the power draw go down with GeForce experience gone?

im constantly looking over at llt and it always states that my dgpu is powered off
also my discharge rate is at 14 w currently so a massive improvement
