I'm getting the attached popup when restarting or turning on my laptop. It seems as if the TPM in Device Manager isn't functionating correctly. The laptop is just over a month old and started doing this last week. I'm wondering if an update messed it up. but not exactly sure.

If I press 'Y' then the laptop screen goes black with a small underscore in the left vorner and it turns the fans up and stays stuck there. The first time I hit 'N' it had me enter bitlocker key information. Since then 'N' boots to Windows. I've checked Windows update, updated BIOS, and reinstalled Windows. Also uninstalled and reinstalled TPM in Device Manager which doesn't appear to have installed correctly. If I disable AMD Platform Security Processor in the BIOS the popup doesn't show up, but I feel like that is a bad work around. I don't see any TPM settings in the BIOS either and not sure if there was ever an option there. Also spoke with Lenovo twice and they weren't much help.

yes, usually a bios update mess up the TPM

#

I suggest to disable any related stuff like Bitlocker temporarily (if you have them on)

#

Then just hit yes once.

So unless it updated BIOS on its own which I doubt it did, then it came up before that. Lenovo had me update the BIOS to see if that would fix it, but it did not.

Edit: I don't see any Bitlocker settings when searching, which I initially did and turned off when entering the key information to boot into Windows the first time .

then likely device encrytion is still on

#

I suggest to find that and turn it off first

Shows no encryption in the places I know to check. I thought I read TPM needs to be working for bitlocker to work, but I could be wrong.

Yes doesn't work unfortunately. Laptop gets stuck on a black screen and runs hot with fans at full speed. I left it that way for hours and it never changed.
