Model: Legion Y540, RTX 2060, I7 9750H

Describe the issue: Charger keeps disconnecting. Bending the cable seems to work but not for long, Sometimes I see the battery symbol charging up but most of the time its just an battery with an charge symbol. The thing is , im not sure if its the charger or the battery.

What have you tried already?: Bending the cable till it shows up charging

When did it start producing the issue: Like a month ago but it has gotten worse overtime

Did you install new drivers or software?: no, I did a reinstall of windows 1/2 months ago

Can you provide images/videos to show us the issue: Yes but the video is bigger than 8MB so discord cries

Likely you got a loose port on the Y540

#

You can look up google, there is a reddit post on how to bend the contacts back in place, but only “permanent” solution is to get the port replaced

@light shuttle better make sure its the charging port and not the cable snapped internally

I've done alot of repairs on laptops and PC's but mostly avoided soldering

"A makerspace is a community-operated, often "not for profit", workspace where people with common interests, such as computers, machining, technology, science, digital art, or electronic art, can meet, socialize, and collaborate"
