Can't disable what closing/opening lid does

Model: Legion 5 15ARH7H

Describe the issue: every time I close lid, my external monitor Acer Nitro XF243Y blinks or looses connection(?), and when I open lid, it does the same but also changes Project setting from 2nd Screen Only to Extend. Similar stuff happens when I turn on my laptop, project setting sets to 2nd Screen Only by default and I have to manually switch it to Extend every time.

What have you tried already?: I've set lid close/open actions to Do Nothing in Power Options, tried different cables like HDMI to HDMI, DP to USB-C and it remains the same. I tried to connect my older HP 24f monitor that you can see on the video - it doesn't blink, but Project setting still switches to Extend by default after opening lid. Also, in 2/10 occurrences, I have to reconnect monitor cable to laptop so it starts recognizing the monitor again.

When did it start producing the issue: from the very first day I got this laptop back in early December 2022.

Did you install new drivers or software?: I tried clean re-installation of NVIDIA drivers, updating Windows 11

Can you provide images/video to show is the issue: see attached video.

I'm out of ideas, please help!

In this case, you need to download quick CPU and edit all power plans to ignore lid close when connected to AC

any idea where to find lid action settings in Quick CPU?

go to the power section

it willl allow you edit power plans

lid close action was set to Do Nothing for all 3 power plans, but lid open action was set up to Turn On the Display, so i changed it to Do Nothing for all 3 plans as well

then pressed Apply on the main screen

but issue still remains...

am i missing something here?

Just set lid turn off to do nothing

And remember to set it for only on AC

not on Battery

Try setting your external monitor as default display and choose show only on display 1

i have the same problem here, like im watching movie on HDMI TV and when i close the lid the movie stops and mouse cursor doesnt move anymore untill i open the lid again. and have the same setting as you mentioned above.

that issue is annoying and i haven't found a fix to it so far, but your problem seems even bigger than mine

@long shuttle bro I know it's an ancient post but did you find a solution eventually? Please help 😭 I'm on legion 5 pro did all the relevant settings and the sustem still automatically goes to sleep without going to lock screen
