#Could I upgrade a legion slim 7i screen from 1080p to 1440p with manufacturer parts i buy online?

technically you can. It must have the same cable, same cable length, same screen size and whatnot. Ask your local service center for more details
To be fair I would upgrade to the 1080p screen that has 300nits and gsync
And better colors
4k or 2k are worthless imo
The 2k screen has much better colors and 500 nits, and you can downscale to 1080 when playing gamees for higher frames, a decent upgrade, worth the $100 to order the screen. Not sure if worth the 10-20% chance that while installing I botch somethign and break my comp tho 😛
2k screen is so much better and everything is clearer
Even games look way better, you don't know what you are missing out on
understandable
If I get the chance to upgrade my laptop screen to 2k I will let you know my personal opinion
but if you have a...rtx 3050, gaming on 2k is bad
Is gaming all that matters to you?
The problem is, a 16 inch display with 1200px is going to look a little blurry.
on 15.6 inch, 1080p is reasonable but definitely not on 16 inch
Also, you can just clock down the resolution to 1200px instead of 1600px in game..
Why even are u thinking about lowering res when ur not even gotten the laptop lmao @young estuary
You don't get a gaming laptop just to watch movies
But everyone does whatever they want with their product so
The question OP has is if they can upgrade their screen
As I said here
I heard that Lenovo can upgrade screens but I doubt it can do it for free, however it won't void warranty
Bro thinks the resolution is only for watching movies.. bruh
Imagine in a year you decide you want to edit/create videos or do some photoshopping.
You'd love the extra pixels and color accuracy.
Ofcourse you can replace anything by yourself If you know where to buy the parts, how to succesfully replace them.
But if you screw up, Lenovo is not paying the price for you
....ok you are right lmao
I admit defeat 😆
True, but it's best to ask lenovo official support. It will be more painful if the part you ordered doesn't work for the legion 5 model or you broke the screen. Anything can happen
Exactly. Can't risk it.
Also no they are 16:10 aspect ratio.
16:9 would be 1080px instead of 1200px
yeh he asked could we upgrade to 1080p or 1440p(which is 16:9) instead of the existing 16:10 panel res
Well yeah but his title is wrong. Look at the options in the screenshot
Why would i lower res, i said i want to upgrade to qhd over hd, which also has the benefit of 350 nits over 500 and better colors
going to ask them about this, no they would never do this for free but maybe they can give a decent price on the upgrade, been looking at their parts website though and it looks like insane markups if buying parts directly from them rather than a aftermarket screen site. Checked out a bunch of aftermarket screen sites and looks like they dont have the piece maybe because the model is so new.
may have to wait a few months or so for the aftermarket to get some more screens. I feel like they stock up later on for when these things start going bad.
