Good bin i would say
and here i was thinking of swapping it cause it's hybrid mode runs funny xdxd
ooh
need to look up how to optimize battery life and maximize performance when plugged in
CPU is questionable though
oo is it supposed to be higher?
yep
No hes in the fine range
i ran the single core one first, battery was like 35 C, then ran the multi core one right after
me: ok CPU, poopoo GPU
this guy proceed to get Excellent on GPU with no overclocking
Yeh lol
Hey dou have imsi afterburner installed?
nope, but i hear it's pretty much a must
more importantly, this one
Install it
i'm now interested
i still havent uninstalled all the extra windows 11 crap or finished adjusting all the settings so it's not so annoying
gettin it now
oh that i have, i've done some of the obvious ones
but there's still a lot to be cleaned i think, my battery life still feels meh
ya that one was a no brainer
_ _
wtf
i got cpuz as well, should i run the benchmark on that?
also what is msi afterburner? just a standard hardware monitor program?
i like how clean it looks
apart from monitoring, it's a well-known GPU overclocking program
ah cool, i've never properly overclocked anything in my life; i think i overclocked the ram on my pc from 3200->3600 but thats about it
wouldn't say that's proper overclocking, because on desktop PC, that's just one flip of switch to unlock the RAM's extra performance
yea exactly, i didnt want to fry anything and i think it was literally a toggle in bios
if it's within manufacturer's expected usage, it's not overclocking
tomorrow, i'll test the laptop's battery, see how long it'd last
i think it was literally these https://www.corsair.com/ca/en/Categories/Products/Memory/VENGEANCE-LPX/p/CMK16GX4M2D3600C16, i never even checked if i did it right, i just know my comp's fast af for general browsing
how long was the laptop last for you ?
nice, i'd love to see the results
about 2 hours, i never really tested it
i have conserve mode on, and i took it out a few times
me holding back my urge to say "skill issue"
i usually plug it in the wall at 20% and that's usually just under 2 hours of general browsing
dont hold back, say whatever you want :p
you know conservation mode limit the battery to 80% right ?
yep, was hoping to conserve it a little XD
breh
i guess i wouldnt mind replacing the battery more often, i should turn it off
i thought conserve mode also made it run on less energy, so i just turned it on lol
like a real magician does
i expect to have 7 hours at least
how much performance do i have to sacrifice for 7 ? :o
erm, haven't tested, so take it with a grain of salt
Like 90% bet
i havent done much.. balance thermal mode, hybrid mode, 60 hz, played around a liittle bit with the power plan settings
quiet is recommended
true
do you still use lenovo vantage? i tried the other recommended one and i didnt much like it, but thats probably cause i wasnt using it right
the battery power, at the palm of my hand
oh yeah, forgot to ask, which BIOS version are you on ?
if it's not here i dont know where to look xdd
It's a stable one
keep it that way
also the first version to have thermal mode custom usable
which means, CPU, GPU power limit can be tweaked
if you want, the fan curve can be changed also
control freak rejoice
i would refrain from touching the max fan speed though
this one
im probably going to refrain from trying to maximize anything for now, just trying to minimize first
then build on that
i see
oh yeah, the legion toolkit
then do remember to cap the frame while playing games
i should redl and use that honestly, i really dislike lenovo vantage
yeet Lenovo Vantage, join Toolkit
i cant tell if you are being sarcastic, like telling me to drink out of a sippy cup and wear my grippy socks
succumb to the rabbit hole
He ain't
you said minimize, me will give you minimize tips
i swear i've uninstalled lenovo welcome like 5 times already, but it keeps appearing
..
i didnt know i can do that
i didnt want to touch the os for once because this is the first legitimate copy of windows i've had in my life
the activation code is in the board anyways, so it doesn't matter
automatically activated
ya, so i should technically clean install windows cause i have the code
i would even go as far as gutting the Windows ISO
but eh, the gain doesn't feel that much noticeable
i've looked at that for 12 years of my life until i got the free upgrade on all my computers to windows 10 xd
not sure what that means
but to reinstall windows, can i just do that on this laptop without a bootable drive or some sort of cd?
Just use a usb
and do i have to use windows 11? or can i get windows 10 or something lol
and sorry i dont mean to bombard you guys with questions, i am just excited to finally have a nice laptop i can fine tune to my liking
would still prefer Windows 11 in this case
kk gonna look into how i can do that :D
Win10 messu with 2022 hardware
haven't reinstalled windows, but i undervolted
not sure how to describe it but i was told to move the 775 point up to 1650
Push it at 900mv
up to 1650?
also that last setting of 1650 at 775 crashed once in the middle of elden ring lol. does that basically mean im making the card do too much (1650 mhz) while giving it too little power (775 mv)?
how high should it be? i'm getting 1818 single and ~17k for multi
That's ok
Cinebench ?
performance mode ?
performance mode
haiyaa low
everything cleared and boosted it with razer cortex
what do i do then?
what on earth is Razer Cortex ?
software to clear up ram and boost performance when you launch a game or smth
sounds useless
This why u lost approx 1k points
Uninstall that bloatware
Dows nothing
aight will run the bench after removing that
down from 1818 to 1782 after uninstalling synapse
single
yet to do multi
alright, got my copy of windows 11 on a bootable drive lol, gonna get ready to run it tonight
reran it with multi included (still without cortex) both scores down to 1743 and 17435 (single and multi) from 1818 and 17790
thats like margin of error
uh huh
alright then
i'm reinstalling cortex since i can one click close down programs and bring them back so i actually have usable ram
fresh windows 11 install, tried my best to erase bloatware, dgpu + performance mode
differences between tests....
drivers: (528.02 on this vs 526.86 before)
gpu temperature: (69 vs 74)
vbs & hvci status: (enabled vs disabled)
