Both, actually
I'm lucky to have a friend with the same charger as I do. My charger works on his laptop, but not on mine. And his charger work on his laptop, but not on mine.
so like you opened it up, unplugged the battery and still same symptom ?
Yeah
I also tried resetting the ram like, a minute ago, but still no luck. Problem has no correlation with the ram but I figured I'd try.
do you see the charging light indicating white or orange
or do you see nothing
Nothing
when plugged in
Nothing. Neither behind or on the side (where it would usually blink to tell me that there's no bettery left)
oh no
Also when the power light turns on for half a second, the led on the side doesn't turn on. The one behind doesn't either.
Is it dead, doc?
i think its the battery
I literally just finished paying for it. XD
thats ded
I hope you still have warranty on it?
Well, it wouldn't make sense like, the problem happened after plugging an HDMI cable
I bought it in April, I hope so, but I work with that laptop :/
it could be a culprit
Though better to have it than non, so at least lenovo will replace your motherboard
Yeah I guess send it off to lenovo
Yeah, true. :/
My friend has a Lenovo legion, but with a GTX 1650TI, thing I could try and swap the battery to see if it'll work?
Yeah but, will they still do the replacement even though I swapped the ram? I did a ram upgrade when I got it
8gb to 16
do you still have the stock ram?
Just slot it back in and send it off to be sure
Yeah I have the original
Though I think they would still work on it either way
Alright, but can I try out my friend's battery first?
Not a Legion btw but Lenovo IdeaPad with a 1650ti
Sure you can. Swapping that should be fast if they are compatible
Yeah but glad you still have warranty
at least it breaks under warranty

Yeah, but still sucks that it only broke after 5 months I mean...
What's gonna happen once I'll be out of warranty? :/
probably fine
I mean we have guys here pushing almost 200W through the vrm and it still survive
so it's probably a one-off kind of thing
I mean looking at it on Google, many people seem to make the same problem as I do, or at least something similar. It just makes me worried. The laptop is amazing but I really want it to keep it running without buying a new Mobo 5 days after the end of my warranty, but that's another subject.
well well I don't have a crystal ball but I'll say it's probably fine
Okay, tried my friend's battery, nothing. It won't start either. Mobo is dead. Will call Lenovo on Monday and try and return it asap.
Will I have my data still? I have a lot of things.
yeah
you can swap the ssd to your friend's laptop and back it up
just to be sure
Final message before I lock this (if I can)
Tried my battery on my friend's laptop, it works fine and boots up, but his battery in my laptop doesn't do anything. Definitely a motherboard problem.
Thank you for the help, with you all the best
Good luck lagoon bro
why was the og message deleted lol
I did. I kinda regret it because there's news on the thing
After remounting the laptop, now the light stays on, fan spins after it gets hot enough
Little more hope.
haha, it's better to add [closed] to the title
Welp.
Do you think I should reopen something since the situation changed a bit or should I just give up and go to a shop, buy a new laptop?
Cause it's a bit urgent and I can't really have down time with that x
hard to say....
Nevermind, back to square one.
if you need help, make new support request, without original message, can't say what is the issue easily
