Contrasting my current OW experience with that closer to launch, I think cheaper fuel has made the game more fun for me, giving more opportunity to grind for a high stat illuvial, venture into stage 3 runs frequently, not obsessing over whether it's worth shooting rocks and plants when I can only afford so many runs at a high price.
The fear of high-stat illuvials being more frequently acquired and losing their market value has not disinterested me from playing at all. It's actually helped wash away the fog enough for me to realize I really enjoy the OW even as-is while awaiting several large upgrades.
Is the thought of catching a $70,000 rhamphyre worth the loss of mass accessibility and more people embracing the IP, or has the narrative gone stale? I still see this dynamic muddy the waters often in new discussions. Even with the MMO-lite release, we will still need some form of financial gate to capturing illuvials, so I think the topic is still relevant, even if auto-drone runs are introduced.
TLDR: Are we on the right path by prioritizing high-value expensive illuvial NFT's, or in this more recent MMO/more accessible content and focus on fun gameplay, should we focus more on mass adoption vs whales and maintain low entry costs, accelerating adoption and more frequent spending.
I'm curious to hear the community's thoughts on this, and I'm hoping for a productive discussion. This conversation also ties into topics like burning illuvials to upgrade stats, because if we care more about frequent dopamine hits and general enjoyment with constant progression, or if we care more about maintaining an astronomical rhamphyre price target, that would really help us navigate many of these conversations with a more clear direction of ILV's future. Topic conversations can quickly get derailed because there are already players that have spent significant money to acquire rare high-stat illuvials, but that could potentially be remedied with in-game compensation.
