I would like to propose a revised reward structure for the Arena in Seasons. While the Season 2 payouts are solid, I believe adjusting the reward system to be rank-based and modeled more like a poker tournament would significantly increase player engagement. This format could attract more participants by offering the allure of a large potential payout for top performers, drawing in competitive players seeking that “big win.”
Cost Reduction and Enhanced Engagement
To help mitigate costs while adding more value to the player experience, I recommend introducing exclusive 1-of-1 NFTs (such as unique Illuvials, gear, skins, and land) as part of the rewards for high-ranking players. These exclusive NFTs would only be available through top ranks in Overworld events, adding a collectible element that appeals to players and helps build a stronger connection to the game.
Additionally, to further incentivize participation, I propose that the top 100 players in each event receive unique NFTs as well. This will encourage more players to compete and create a sense of achievement at different ranking levels.
Proposed ILV Distribution for Seasons Rewards:
Overworld Events: 2,040 ILV (17%) and Top 100 Get NFTS
Tournaments: 5,640 ILV (47%) and Top 100 Get NFTS
Leaderboards: 1,680 ILV (14%) and Top 100 Get NFTS
Missions & Milestones: 2,640 ILV (22%) and Top 100 Get NFTS
By combining rank-based ILV payouts with unique NFT rewards for the top 100 players, this structure would not only attract new players but also maintain the interest of existing players by offering a highly competitive and rewarding experience. Over time, the exclusive NFTs could gain significant value, becoming highly sought-after collectibles in the Illuvium community and for those of you wondering, I'm not heavily involved in the Arena yet—I’ve played fewer than 10 games there—but I believe we need a bigger prize pool for the top players to draw more people into the game.
