#ILV lock time/weight increase

Ilv and slp can currently be locked up to 1 year.
The idea is to increase the lock period as following:

Proposed increase:

3 years

Weight for revenue distribution (rd):

1 year x2
2 year x2.75
3 year x3.2

*Max weight stacking rewards will stay unchanged and stays at x2 for one year and more.

Implementation will be as soon as possible but increased rd weight will only go active one year after the implementation to give everyone a fair chance to change to a longer lock of their staked ILV and SLP.

The idea is to make it more interesting to hold ILV and go for rd instead of timing the market. Give ILV into the hands of long time believers and supporters of the DAO.

The DAO will profit from higher rd which will help secure the future runway!

Please share your opinions and concerns of a longer lock time and rd weight.

I like it, happy for a long term lock.

I would lock it up for 3 years. Long term locking introduces higher risks, cause a lot can happen in 3 years, therefore only making it fair that earn more of the cake.

However, because of that the ILV token could end up/accumulate in the hands of a few people, especially with the higher RevDis rewards.

Making it highly centralized after a couple of years.

# void ravine I would lock it up for 3 years. Long term locking introduces higher risks, cause...

This would benefit all the people who will be here for several years anyway and have complete trust in the team and the DAO. Also it could make some trader reconsider and staking their tokens for longer.

It doesn't mean that everyone will re stake their token.
As with an increasing price you will always have sellers in the market.

An increased weight of 3.2x also doesn't mean you get 3.2x the rev dis it depends on how many people lock as long as you do.

The multiplier could also be decreased and it would still work out. How much would you propose to make it reasonable for the increased risk?

Here my thoughts

Pros:

-Increasing the lock period and weight for revenue distribution can encourage long-term holding of ILV and SLP, which can increase the stability of the price and reduce volatility.

-Incentivize more investors to choose revenue distribution

-Secure future runway with higher revenues for the DAO

-Reduce the potential for market manipulation and speculative trading, as investors are encouraged to hold their tokens for a longer period.

Cons:

-Longer lock periods may discourage some investors who prefer more flexibility in their investment choices, as they may not want to commit their funds for such a long period.

-There is a risk that the increased weight for revenue distribution may disproportionately benefit longer-term investors, potentially creating an imbalance in rewards between short-term and long-term investors.

-The implementation of such a change may also require a significant amount of time and resources, as it may require changes to the smart contract

The initial ''promise'' was... you lock in 1 year and then you get a Weight X2 on revdis with the ability to withdraw your liquidity once the one year is up.
With a public bêta out at the end of 2021.

If we have to relock, I will get out of the project, and I won't be the only one

I like it, giving more weight to people who have a bigger long term vision on the project is a good thing.
Never a negative in my view, can't see anyone not happy to support thIS. Ultimately after yield ends I would like to explore what extended weighted locks can give people aside from rev dis.
DAO soulbound discounted fuel or IL zero speed ups, just worth exporing, better insentives to get people to hold long term, specially if rev dis isnt huge at the start, due to a slow start etc

Any thoughts about people who have recently locked for 12 months? I don't mind the idea of a longer lock period, but it sucks for long term holders who may have locked tokens recently, and are unable to relock until their current lock period expires.
