It's not against the rules. We obviously prefer people to be able to find matches but we know we came in late to this wave and it's a tougher time. We're working on the multi-D1SK opening which will give another option for people who may not be able or interested in battling.

The Illuvidex doesn't tell you the stage of the background easily. Illuvialmaster includes it under the attribute section on our cards. And knowing it comes from being obsessed with Illuvium Beyond and spending more time than is wise opening disks and perusing the market lol

While these Disks guarantee 1 1300 Power Illuvitar, there are many Illuvitars available on the secondary market for under $8 with the same power level. Given that Wave 1 has ended and there is no new supply of Illuvitars except for unopened Disks, this price disparity represents a significant opportunity

Going out of my way to resist the temptation to collect feels strange in Beyond. The above may look good, is very rare, and it is certainly very hard to assemble all three - but sadly this is not the game. In my opinion, it would have been smart for the team to have put unlockable items, maps, images, clues about lore, fun easter eggs etc... as surprises for those collecting sets of backgrounds and hence created some value for all Illuvitar cards outside of leaderboard. Value for all cards would have done better. But as it stands, I have learned that we should focus on points per slot and dump all non-holo content (99% of disks) ASAP.

We absolutely want to do a whole lot more when time and resource allows. As I've mentioned we're starting the conversation about a Design Refresh which includes reviewing all of the feedback we have received since Wave 1 launched and prioritized QoL updates, feature inclusions etc.

Rogier is someone who has a wildly different vision for what he wants to see the Album become, however all of this takes time so it's a matter of working towards that future state incrementally.

I think this will change in the future. Once we have a million players, only a small fraction will be able to compete for the leaderboard and the rest will find other reasons to collect, such as aesthetics. We already have people completing collections in a certain background color, regardless of market value. I also have a few matching sets.

I firmly believe that in the future we will have our own version of a bat cave, a place where we can show off our weapon collection, along with our suit skins and a selection of our best looking illuvitars. There, your stunning set of dash-es will be more valuable than a random pimped up holo with twice the points. As a first step, perhaps will could have a "show" page in the album, where the points don't count for the leaderboard and people could just display a curated collection for looks only.

Right now, the small number of people who both know about Beyond and have the funds to collect are mostly going for the leaderboard, as it makes financial sense. But as soon as I won't be able to compete, I will switch to collecting them for my visual pleasure (already building up a small collection)

Since land has a way bigger impact and is a year out longer than beyond - as one of the participants in the Dutch auction back then and kept my grounds so far I feel kind of that there’s an imbalance between the two.
Whereas, in my personal opinion, it should be made sure that MC in IZ & balancing is finished in time instead of putting even more into Illuvium Beyonf. I genuinely admire the team's work, but since the game is not launched yet and we do not know what the number of active players will look like - resources are limited to some point.

I agree, I see the same potential. The truth is the team are truly talented, and it frequently shows. They have exceptional potential. They can blast it out of the park. It's just a shame we are on overtime with Wave 2 and still on v1 of beyond. It also feels like the rules are rubbery and the game is on Beta yet it's played with real money - actually ETH even better. But I understand priorities... they have a lot of balls in the air and I want each to succeed like the rest of us.

I also participated in that auction so I remember it well. I purchased a T3 mega city in two choice locations and then a bunch of T2 & T1 weekenders on all the other geographies. I am also a landowner and very disappointed in the way that project has been handled. I understand all the demands of the overall project, yet land does seem neglected, and honestly, as of now a failure. There are things they could have done to keep land interesting (I have not touched my plot in months!) and offered some rewards...hell even give some beyond disks out (that cost them nothing) for hitting levels in zero, and that could also build beyond and keep the overall interest going. We have had nothing for updates of substance and pvp shouldn't change zero at all. We have to wait for news and overworld to finally get going, and not sure I want to hold my breath for that. Be great when it's all up and going, and get that it's like changing a jet engine in flight, but land still got the short end of the stick and disappointed some core people who spent a lot of money. Thank god for beyond or I might have just left the whole ecosystem, so I hope they always take care of beyond also.

Those are fair points; I would be curious about what’s in the tank regarding Illuvium Zero; maybe there has been lots of work done in the back from which we do not know about - I do hope that at least MC is ready for OB. We don't have plans to lean heavily on the Backend Team, there is a reasonably large amount we can do for Beyond via Frontend only changes.

I don't know if Ophisto will be able to go down more than 20-30% it is mandatory to have it to be in the top 50 in the long term as well as Ramphyre, if it is true that the leaderboard is always rewarded with ILV, if the value of the token goes up the rarest illuviatars go up because always being in the top 50 is profitable

perhaps not mandatory, as bonding becomes more important than just a few thousand points in a few spots, but helpful and also beautiful. Don't get me wrong, I think even at this point it's fairly valued, even knowing we have a few months of supply left, but a little cheaper it's a great value. And we saw Rhamps do that in wave one and start of wave two, helped by bear market, and know their prices are higher now. and new supply in effect complete.

If illuvium will be the game that it seems to be, everything is built very well and in detail, the tokenomics is great and the token I think it goes up a lot from now to one two years, if it gets to 300 and in a month you have 4, the very rare iluvviatars I think it increases a lot in value while the others don't

I think ILV token is a great play for next bull, and I hope the overall boost to web 3 gaming flows over to Beyond...we'll see. Even simple games would help drive it. I would guess the NFT market will lag the bull at first, and perhaps be where people who made money on tokens put some of their profit to try for more as the bull starts to top out (sorta what happened last time)....either way I like it (way more than I thought I would!) and it's a good group of people here.

I seem to have read that the leaderboard will be increased in wave 3, but I don't know with what rewards, Illuvium if it comes out and works well will be a leader in the narrative of 3.0 games and Beyond should increase the demand but it depends on what they will develop on Beyond

I'd love to see 2 standard disks for 101-125 and 1 standard disk for 126-150 to expand the leaderboard and would especially make sense with promo coming with expanded wave 2 and also ability to do eth lizards disk pvp...could really get people in the game, at no real cost to the dao. Guessing it would lead to more people dedicated to the game and the disk opening experience also.

And at some point I want them to be careful at giving ILV away which does have a real cost and what could be an incrediable value.

There are a lot of factors to consider when giving disks as rewards, but when I do magic tournaments and open packs I'm happy even if I don't find anything of value, the other option I think is to give 0.25 and 0.1 ilv, if ivl goes to 300 400 $ it's hard to maintain as a structure

Dunno about "far more". Your numbers seem a bit off, we had 197k wave 1 disks sold (including the promo disks, so around 187k true wave 1s) and we are at 114k with wave 2. That is still 73k less. Strong promo disk sales would help as they contain a normal wave 2 illuvitar as well but we still need strong showing to reach wave 1 numbers.
