I haven't done the math on that (might do it honestly to see how much it would cost) but if you re looking to complete the wave 1 collection at least 4-5 eth i think (that's not taking into account Holo versions of rare ones)

Going to illuvial master. My illuvitar collection was estimated at 2.6 ETH and I'm in top 100. But this is an estimate.

And I have quite a few copies. But most of them are worth less than the disks they were in.

At this point you have to ask if it's better to spend let's say 3 ETH on illuvitars or on #🥩〕staking .

If you're in top 100 you'll potentially get 26 ILV in the next year. Those are worth $1200 at this point. If APR is 70%, you need to have Like $1800 in the SLP pair to make those back. Which is like 3 times less than collecting the illuvitars.

Appreciationwise it's speculation which will be more valuable down the line.

I recommend just playing at filling the album for a while and see if you enjoy it. Top 100 ain't easy but possible. I would recommend Illuvidex (secondary market) for illuvitars with rare expressions and rare backgrounds, which by definition, are rarer to get on disk opening. Also, there are a lot of illuvitars bonded, meaning that they already have acessories attatched, and they can not be removed or changed btw. But they offer larger points towards the leaderboard, and in many cases sell for less than the various components added up (which is the only way I would buy them..why pay a premium for something you could do yourself cheaper). good luck and have fun...there are many beautiful ones in the collection.

Well I can see the speculative play at 25 cents, statistically T0 Illuvials will likely be the most played Characters as everyone will have to start in the T0 zones and a large portion of any F2P Playerbase is actually Free To Play

It has been stated that T0’s will have different backgrounds each wave, so I can see why people are choosing to accumulate Wave 1 Background T0’s.

Not a play I’m that crazy on, but I can understand why.

Yep exactly ... and the points you get for these but i hope it doesn't get too confusing are 92024 - **BUT ** this is calculated if you place each illuvitar in 1 spot (not in the wave 1 collection/ not in T0 collection - each one placed in its Line album -> Beetle Line you will have Goliant / Smirking Goliant / Laser Goliant - so it doesn't take into account that the same Goliant might be placed in another 5-6 sleeves banking an extra 12000-13000 points) .
It's difficult to estimate the max points you can get with this because it's based on every individuals choice to place/bond a specific illuvitar in a specific sleeve

We have a selection of Illuvitars available for the GameStop Promo, and we'll have a similar sized selection for other partnerships in the future. (We have a few equally large names planned that will coincide with PvP/Arena PB3 launching).

There has definitely been some learnings, I think we can improve in many areas.

Kieran will have an update for those participating in the GameStop Sale Event. He's been fighting to ensure we can offer the ILV Community more value above what's been provided so far.

I think with minor tweaks, next promos could do better. For instance, I think that 1 illuvitar per pack for $50 felt a little difficult (when compared with wave 1 pricing). With the current odds, would have probably made sense to have more illuvitars per disk, say 5 per disk for 100$ a disk and 10k disks available for sale (or 2 per disk for $40-50 or so).
Ofc I understand everything is easier with hindsight but there is a psychological barrier when it comes to drawing only one item out of a disk with a 75%+ chance of instant depreciation

I'm wondering if in the future it might be better to have promos have illuvitars not from the preceding wave but from the upcoming one - that way they give a small, short term utility of being able to be slotted into albums and can give leaderboard points before the wave comes out.

I'd also love to see the album/sleeving of the promo be able to be completed by an "average" collector - currently it feels unreachable to most people and I'd rather not have it be "normal" to leave albums incomplete. Or maybe have multiple albums for promo, one that is doable and one that is more for hardcore mode

I love the ideas of promos - I think this current one has some areas for improvement, but I'm bullish on partnerships continuing and the way they're done can be super great with a few tweaks

I know that “power creep” is always a concern, in terms of trying to have promos have innate value so they are desirable (which is good for all parties involved) but not making them too much better than wave releases… one way this could be done is that the illuvials in them would be considered a good price, but due to the innate bonding their power levels would not be super impressive. Maybe you get tier 2 and up illuvitars in promos, but due to their accessories only being 2.5% I’m guessing people competitive on the leaderboard would want to replace them later on with non-promo illuvitars that have higher better accessories

Buying decisions have been made under the now false pretense of a 3 day sale. Feels a lot like being rugged at this point.
The Goliant pull rates were also advertised at 0.2% and we are currently below 0.1%, poor rng or more false advertising. With the open willingness to move goal posts i'm leaning towards the latter.
All leaves a sour taste and I honestly don't think I will be participating in any more of these sales.

I think its important to note that the sale extension was originally planned to only be for the duration of the AWS downtime, but it was communicated that GS does not like to do limited time extensions and would prefer a longer period for marketing purposes, so there may be a factor of having their hands tied. The sale extension is certainly mixed news. I also made some buys yesterday based on the trajectory of the drop not selling out. Those buys will now be devalued with the extra sales. However, the extension with the extra emails and the extra drop will benefit the long-term prospect of the project as a whole, so I think we need to take this one on the chin. The more eyes and players the project gets the more successful it becomes and then the value of even the now cheap ones will go up. We do lose some short term value but might win more over the long run.

I am also referring to pull rates in relation to all disks opened, not just my own. They are not as advertised and I struggle to believe RNG accounts for this drastic reduction in pull rates.

I will not need to check your pull rates, but I have seen you mention on this chat earlier how lucky you have been with pulls from wave 1. I'm just saying that it does not seem fair to accuse the team of manipulating drop rates if you - or this drop as a whole - now have a bad stretch. The difference of 0.1% and 0.2% over a sample of 8k mints is very well within the normal RNG range. As a formal professional poker player, I could share stories of steaks of brutal luck, but no one would care about them. It's part of the game. I had much worse luck with pulls from wave 1 than many people but never thought that it was because the team was, for some unknown reason, manipulating the drop rate.

The data team does periodic reviews of the probability distribution for the Beyond d1sks, but as @fathom lintel pointed out with only 8k mints the drops rates seem well within normal ranges. We will do a review at the end of the sale (and publish the results), and if there is still concern we can also do a code review on it too.

I can't categorically say that an error was not made, but it is the same code as Wave 1, so it seems unlikely.

I find it very strange that the sale will be extended by 3 days. So if it's only about the error of AWS, then 1 day would have been enough. When it comes to selling out the collection, I'm not sure if that helps. The problem is that $50 for a single Illuvitar (without extra accessories) is already extremely expensive. Also, most people don't buy multiple packs as in most cases they will end up with multiple Dokas and/or Archies. So the probability that you get an Illuvitar, which you have not yet drawn in the GS design is too low. A total of 6 Illuvitars is simply not enough variation. So the next Illuvitar cooperation for 50$ simply has to offer more or the price has to be reduced!
But let's wait for the announcement, maybe the team still has something up its sleeve!

Just to throw in my two cents.... This seems like a very bad decision. It really hurts the people who have been spending money on the game. The value of their investment gets reduced because the "rules" are getting changed. And if you change the rules mid-way, and hurt the people who invest in you in an attempt to get more people to invest, you shoot yourself in the foot. The new people will see how you treated your supporters and will be turned off from joining.

I threw a lot of money into the wave 1 sale, and a lot into this one, and I have very little to show for it. I was really hoping the sale would run out with a lot of discs unsold to hopefully boost the value of all of the Dokas and Archies I have. That just went out the window. Why would I want to put more money into this???
