the larger your collection the more likely you were affected by bug

several issues were cleaned up, but as @frosty knot mentioned we added this emergency "Sleeve by ID Option" so even if some bug remains or a new one comes up you can't get stuck

we might eventually take it away, although if you have a lot of matches its kinda handy anyway 🙂

If you aren't on leaderboard, please sleeve something, and you should appear. There should be no bugs around appearing on leaderboard. Please make noise and raise a ticket if you see any leaderboard related issues (after sleeving something).

Everyone should also have their whole collection visible, but if one or two (or ten) things don't appear for sleeving:

1. Still rasie a ticket, we want to know
2. Use the "Sleeve by ID" option to add any missing Illuvitar

I'm so glad they are making up for the lost time by the increased payout, and yes, that does make me want to keep investing in illuvitars and the game, including the next wave, though less hyped on alphas unless they gain more benefit in some way.

Yeah it does appear like a temporary solution. If things were functioning as intended there would be no need for a workaround ultimately.
It's a step in the right direction though and if it can get things running with rewards etc, the team can then operate with less pressure.

Hey folks, I can't stick around to answer questions as I'm not well today but a few notes:

1. The way the system works is that it updates your points when you make a change. As Alexa pointed out there are still some people on leaderboard who have incorrect points due to prior bugs. Until they make a change (like sleeve/unsleeve) they wont be updated. We need to create and execute a process to force all of these to be updated.

If this is going to take more than a few days, we can also look at some kind of manual process just to ensure top 100 is correct.

2. If you have sleeving issues then the disconnect/reconnect wallet flow should work reliably now as a way to reset all your sleeving candidate data, but that wont help for wallet only users. I'll see if I can think of some workaround for this case.

Everyone has the fall back of Sleeve by ID but in can be a bit tedious no doubt.

3. I expect @late cradle will announce a date for the first snapshot early next week. It would be good to get a feeling for how much notice you guys think is correct, i.e. how long between announcement and snapshot (1 day? 3 days? 7 days?)

My point is now an individual has to track all illuvitars and make sure they are sleeved properly, I have over 1000, so doing that manually is not something I really want to do. I can't actually tell you if all my illuvitars are sleeved properly, since you have to do it manually. To me, that isn't a true fix since the problem still exists, and now individuals are required to manually sleeve all illuvitars with issues (you don't know which have issues until you check them all)

The Sleeve by Id fix is intended for fixing a handful of illuvitars that failed to register as candidates. For example if there is a timeout on IMX a few times in a row and we can't confirm your ownership (and thus don't add a new illuvitar as a candidate).

I'll have to talk to Jeremy to see how how many people are in your situation, but as far as I have heard it is very few since we regenerated candidate data. Will Jeremy know your support ticket by your discord name?

UPDATE: I've pinged Jeremy for follow up but I really do need to go, sorry. I'll see if I can get your issues sorted as soon as I am feeling better.

Mainly because i'm bullish on the other games (overworld, zero, arena), all of which will likely have leaderboards, which will require a pfp. I believe if we can get millions of players into those games, the crossover into beyond is inevitable for a decent proportion of the player base.
Ultimately the success of the main games are the driver, but we wouldn't be here if we didn't believe in the success of those.

I also have over 1000, and no, it does not take that long to check them. It's not like you have to check your 56 lynxes 1 by 1, use your filters. Who knows how long it would take to get a 100% full fix, with the workaround, we can all take 1-2 hours max (it took me about 20 min) to fix our albums so the rewards can start. I'm sure there will eventually be a full fix, but the game can go on in the meantime.

I’m not sure illuvials will be as “collectible” as illuvitars. Plus many illuvitars will be long retired before any illuvial is. Set 1 illuvials wont be retired until late 2024 or early 2025, while you only have 32 days until no more rhamphyre illuvitars, forever.

We also don’t know how much stats/stage will matter. I know they don’t want the game to become p2w which is definitely a good thing, but a clever way to make sure rare stat illuvials are worth a lot more should be a high priority thing IMO. Or else all you’ll need is a rhamphy. Also fusing would be throwing money away.

I fully trust the team to come through though. They’ve really proven they can make a fun game loop with survival, OW, and now illuvitars. I can’t wait for pvp beta.

Dunnow why though if most problems are gone. You cant stop a game and help everyone. If they have the above 1 mil players that they are aiming for, then they cant be doing that for a few players who have bugs.

Its also easier to compensate a few people instead of all people. So maybe its a better idea to keep things going in the future instead of keep things on hold for all.

As the waves go by it is going to get more difficult to compete for most players, especially as more and more players/money enter the space over time.
The leaderboard will be dominated by whales regardless, simply due to the fact that to be placed meaningfully, one would have to invest into every wave/promo set and bond all of them. Costly for sure, regardless of smarts.
Also cannot forget that we're here in a bear market, where the majority of people are not even paying attention. Right now may just be the easiest time to rank we will ever have.

I don't think removing accessories is even on the table, at least not according to Aaron. What has been discussed as a possibility is being able to bond a different accessory replacing another existing one. You will never be able to make a bonded illuvitar a "virgin" one again

I know where you are coming from and I will be gone from the leaderboard after some time too because I won't be able to keep up with the spending, but whales fighting it out will be very beneficial to the project as a whole, more money in the ecosystem is always good, you and I just have to adjust and make it in different ways - once you no longer have the chance to stay in the leaderboard, you can sell your rarer illuvitars for the whales for more moneys, for example. Also, if you hold any tokens you will benefit.

Considering that on their roadmap Wave 2 is slotted for Q3 it seems likely that Wave 2 will not begin next month, and yes it's the beginning of Q3 but prices for Wave 2 would still need to be voted on and approved by DAO. And they have mentioned partner disks are coming, but whether it's during the end of this wave, in between 1 and 2 or during wave 2 idk for sure. Just my guess.

I'm not entirely familiar with the specific process followed by Illuvium, but based on my experience in the tech industry, a typical workflow often involves two-week development sprints, followed by two weeks dedicated to quality assurance (QA) testing. If any issues arise during testing, they are communicated back to the development team, and the cycle continues with additional information. Consequently, for complex issues, it is not really un expected to have a turnaround time of around 6 to 8 weeks.

Especially those really annoying hard to reproduce bugs that a dev can spend three days worth of work and get literally no where.

Still things are working for most people for more then a week now. If they want to become high tier in the gaming industry with a lot of players, you cant let all people wait for a few. The machine learning algo doesn’t just look at only rhamphyres, it looks at the whole picture. So every new sale might result in something slightly changing, resulting in some weights being changed in the “black box” of the model.
So even if no new rhamphyres sold, maybe something like some high rarity Adoredos sold for more or less than expected. So when it’s training (it retrains often) a weight could be tilted one way or the other.

Sorry, this wasn’t the best job at explaining.
And we mayyy have a complete overhaul coming, which should make it a good amount better. Especially at high rarity/high value illuvitars :D.

Although even with the new ml algo, values may still fluctuate like that. I think, but don’t know for sure yet, that it won’t fluctuate as large.

I agree, but what I hated about it forever now that is undervalued the hell out of something like a holo rhamphyre. Right now it’s up to 2.8, but in the past it’s been close to 2. I think 2.8 is still insanely low.

When you don't have a lot of price data, it can be very hard to account for 'desirability', although to some degree it is also 'whatever people will pay'.

For me valuations are way off for anything that is high-end for a given Illuvial (i.e. T5 S2S3 Backgrounds with Holo and/or Uncommon/Rare expressions).

Maybe it is worth considering the affect of these characterisitcs on price across ALL illuvial types.

Every right to be frustrated, unlike the other games which are intentionally released in a an alpha/demo state this was a public launch.

In terms of fixes one of the challenges has been that once the issues were released live it much trickier to fix them (for example we can't just change a data structure without some kind of migration process).

More widely we've made internal changes to address the quality issues in subsequent releases. Mainly around more formally defined quality boundaries and giving more power to the QA team.

I agree and this is why I’m completely overhauling the machine learning algorithm. To something more sophisticated. It will do a better job at pricing the super high end backgrounds and such. Once you get something rare enough without enough data the current model doesn’t like to increase price any further.

It’s taking time but it’ll be worth it

“Power efficiency” is also cool as it sorts by power / price.
If you’re looking for a particular illuvitar, you can set how much power you want with the power filter, then sort or power efficiency. That will show you the cheapest illuvitars vs there power

Seems to be decent sales coming in, are you referring to aftermarket sales?

It doesn't really make sense to purchase disks on the aftermarket right now with the mint still ongoing and being able to pay using SILV, either using rewards or market discount.

Aftermarket sales will likely do better once the mint is over and that becomes the only available place to purchase wave 1 disks.

With the mint drawing to a close I believe sales will naturally rise as fomo kicks in (speculation, no guarantee).
