the calculations are simple its the valuation that is difficult

buying a disk is a cost which gives assets that have a value
bonding an item disposes of two or more assets to create a new asset (probably at a loss)
the attribution of each components contribution to the new assets value is probably done based on their relative value before bonding (there's no rule here but this seems the most logical)

just to be clear this might help you with working out how much money a d1sk "makes you" but may not be at all applicable in regards to taxation in your region, this is not tax advice or financial advice

Just bought 6 mega disks and honestly couldn't have been worse. Pulled 7 shit lynx, 3 Kukkas, and 2 atlas. $282 and almost nothing to show for it. Not that I expect to get back my investment but seriously 7 lynx? That shouldn't happen under any scenario.

The problem with Mega disks is that they reroll the second slot Illuvitar until it hits 1250+ power, so the most likely thing you'll see is Lynx since anything higher is rare, and most lower is too low for 1250 power

But the there hasnt been an IIP for the format of the auction, and auctioning off 2 things may be too little. So they may do the auction at a later date if there are more articles to auction off.

If you want it to happen quickly, write an IIP get positive community sentiment and push it hard!

I have been flipping some good NFT I get from d1sk. I have 1444 D1sk so far and spent 2.5K but I think my HOLO Leaking Singe HEX will recoup that once more waves come out and collectors may want the HOLO L Singe to go with that line off Illuvitars. I figure to get the 5000 d1sk I may have to throw a another 3k upfront... but not sure if I should just stop flipping NFT and keep the good ones or go for the suit....which is why the rarity of the suit is important. If you get it for 5000 disk ($45K) and there are only around 50 that exist ever...imagine the price on that...but if you can get the suit it in game by achieving some sort of mile stone... then maybe its better to just keep the NFTs, ,,......my dilemma

Illuvitars uses, for the most part, the exact same features as the other games will. The minting of assets is similar to going on a run and finding assets. the bonding is similar to crafting and the leaderboard takes on-chain data and updates that on a timely basis.

The team has stated that backend developers are difficult to come across, because Web-3 has a pretty scammy stigma.

So while I think everyone will agree that more backend devs would be incredibly helpful, I dont think it will get much harder than this. That is because these are the exact same systems that will be used at a later date for the main games. Thats how it was purposefully designed.

Yes. SILV2 has the same buying power on the blockchain as the value of ILV.
Since that is the case, sILV2 has been inching closer and closer to ILV, now that there is a continuous way to use your sILV2.
It should currently be close to like 90% orso of ILV.

If you look at floor price you can get a holo slash in for 0.48 right now and that’s with a tier 1 stage 2 bg. Maybe 0.804 is a touch cheap, we’re working on making every improvement we can! I have some ideas on how to further tune the model on the back burner right now!

A touch cheap, i'd say. Only 7 mad holos exist, whereas there are 27 regular holos. The mad should be multiples more expensive, even with a common background.
That seller didn't know what they had. I seriously doubt any future sale would come close to that previous sale.

As soon as people agree on certain combinations being more valuable e.g. Nexus T4 variants matching the region of the Illuvial, things will change. It is kind of interesting that we make value decisions based on an AI/model when buying/selling. The AI is almost controlling or at least influencing mass behavior this way.

Somewhere in that ball park. You may have been able to get there cheaper, but it is getting harder and harder to find good deals, most things are way overpriced IMO.
You may get lucky pulling disks, but in my experience it always worked out better to just buy what you want rather than trying your luck.

I think you have to do it for the love of collecting and potential future value. The rewards alone cannot be your sole motivation as they are not enough to justify going for top 3. As you say, you are going to have to invest heavily into all waves to maintain, the rewards can never hope to cover that and I don't think that they ever should.

The people outside of top 100 will come to the realization that they wont be making the leaderboard and start selling some of their collection. It'll make more sense to buy deals off the market with ETH than open more d1sks. And then it'll pick back up as we approach wave 2. I could be wrong, but thats just my thoughts

I believe the majority of the sales came simply from the leaderboard itself and the ability for people to flex what they have, as well as being given a goal to strive for.
The fact that both came at the same time, we can never truly know, but due to the simple math involved with the expenditure/rewards, it seems quite apparent.

I also have to disagree with you on this one. Maybe the extra rewards did no change to your spending, I can tell you for a fact that they did change my strategy significantly, and I'm far from the only one. Many people have spent a lot more than they otherwise would because of the added rewards. Not only spent more, spent it in a different way too. I had not bonded anything before the leaderboard, but I had to if I wanted to compete. This means sacrificing value in most cases. I also have spent a decent amount on cards with high power rather than the ones I like the most as a pure collector. Not selling accessories because I needed them to compete, etc. Very different in many ways. And as for your math, I use a different math, because if I keep my ILV until it reaches just $500 - far from ath, I am now gaining an asset that will be far more valuable to me in the future, very well worth the extra expense...

Sure, I made some arrangements with the leaderboard in mind (accessories, selling duplicates to buy different illuvitars etc.) and I think that gave a nice boost to the project but I sure won't spend significant amounts to have a chance to win $30 per week

Talking about the potential of the coin doesn't make sense to me in today's decision-making. If it's about potential, then I'd rather just buy 0.5 ILV or more per week than spend hundreds of $ every week on illuvitars/accessories for the sole purpose of getting rewards (with the uncertainty to even be in the leaderboard). If I spend, it's because am thinking I am getting good value for the long-term with the added "potential" benefit of the rewards

Interesting how you totally separated the future value of illuvitars and the future value of tokens in your argument. But the two will rise or fall together 🙂 How come you invest in illuvitars with long-term value in mind, but at the same time, it does not make sense to you to consider the long-term value of the token you get? You shouldn't think you get $30 a week, you should think you get 0.5 ILV a week. A big difference. People argue that you could just spend the same amount in tokens, but it's the wrong math. You are spending it on an appreciating asset (the illuvitars) that will passively gain you another appreciating asset (the token).

With that said, I'm not here to argue with anyone, I think we all agree that we see the great potential in the project, and that's why we are spending our money on it 🙂 I do my best to employ a hybrid strategy, where I aim to spend my money on power as cost-effectively as I can (you could get 50k power by spending $50 and bonding strategically, or you could get it by spending $200 carelessly). At the same time, I try to keep my most valuable items clean, both for my collection and for future appreciation. And thirdly, I am picking up good deals constantly, which will hopefully bankroll future waves for me. You can play this in many ways...

Maybe my point was not clear. I agree with some of what you said, am just saying that if I buy a ramphyre for example, it would be because I think am paying a good price for it (for what I estimate its value potential to be). I would however not buy it SOLELY to get into the leaderboard and maybe get rewards (was saying this in reaction to the suggestion that many invested just because of the rewards). Essentially, it's a cost benefit analysis and I would be silly to spend $2k on that ramphyre only for a x% chance to maybe receive 0.5 to 1 ILV weekly. If I want to benefit from the potential of ILV, I just buy it straight. Sure if Illuvitars are successful, so will ILV but the other way around is not necessarily true 🙂

That would be around 600 standard packs or 120 megas or a comination of both... i mean chances are not too bad to get a rham and possible more other good stuff but if you dont get any good hits youre pissed 😅

So yeah its a gamble you could get more bank for your buck or maybe not...

But i think chances of getting a rham with at least a t3 background are not too good with that amount...

Statistically the odds are massively against you. You will fare better just buying what you want outright rather than gambling opening disks. You could get lucky, but again, statistically you probably wont. Most disks lose money.
In spite of this I open disks all the time 😝 😂
