i think that just mostly concerns the top players. tbf average players probably don't play often enough/long enough periods to experience it that hardly i feel like.

Personally I never had any crashes, I play every day, but I only play 2-4 games and usually to around wave between 13-20. (sometimes I leave the game running for several hours when doing other stuff in the house). so it may not be a valid representation, compared to those playing a lot more games.

I don't run any "screensharing/streaming" or any other programs at the same time.

It's not a super gaming pc, but I run it on a MSI i5-10400,2.9ghz, 16gb ram, Gforce RTX 2060, windows 11. I run the game with Epic Quality, with fog & groom enabled, DLSS mode - auto, and no Ray Tracing...

not much more than the usual Safe Build Path :
1: you put armor + air shield on your ranger
2: you add a reliable source of damage (like Phyriox, Scoriox, Ryplance...)
3: you add the synergy 3 bulwarks asap
4: you add in 1 heal
5: you give air to ranger

if you follow this build order and don't misposition too hardly getting to waves 14+ consistantly shouldn't be too much of a problem

yeah PCs are not in cause most of the time. Indeed i do have a brand new crazy setup and still crash, but more often when i stream on discord (Twitch is fine) and also play more often than what you describe there.

In the end i just assume the crashes are just random even if some factors might make it more likely to happen, and obviously the more you play the higher the chance to experience it.

After all this is PB1 and it was totally expected to happen 🙂

so idk if there's any good written guides out there so far, i was actually maybe planning on writing some myself at some point but for now idk. There are amazing videos for beginners tho like Frobei's one or Godson's.

For affinities:
What i did myself is just learn the basic Pentagram (there's also a lot of logic in it so it helps memorizing it); in this example we see Fire is weak to Earth and Water while strong against Nature and Air (the closer an affinity appears to you in the chart, the stronger the bonus so Water +1 against fire and Earth +2 same the opposite way for Fire vs Nature and Air)
We don't have the exact numbers but what the community decided was that big bonus = +2 and small bonus =+1

Then i pushed myself to calculate it everytime i was using and positionning my units and it slowly becomes intuitive. to be honest you don't need to know the exact number. all you need to know is : am i getting hyper or am i giving some to my opponent and if yes how big of a problem is that?

With all of this said illuvialmaster.com/affinities is a very easy to use tool that can help you at the beginning to know how fast the hyper will build in a 1v1 interaction.

I think my problem is in the later rounds when there's multiple affinities and I have difficulty recalling the ones I should and countering them with new picks. Guess that comes with experience though.

Well, that too. But mainly when there are like 7 Illuvials and there are like 3 fire, 2 nature, 1 steam, 1 air. Like I don't know how to strategize that all at once. Guess I will focus on the basics first.

well you don't need to counter everything. It's a decision making game. You can't counter everything by affinities. make just sure you always have enough tanks, enough Damage and Enough support in your comp. then learn the behaviour of every unit on the board. what it does, how big of a threat is it or what conditions does it need to become a threat? and just work from there.

also hyper only matters for the units close to you so you don't need to calculate the whole board.

Survival competitive is the base game mode that tournaments will use. Basically, it's what we are building now.

Survival Tournaments requires the full version of Survival Competitive.

And even though Competitive isn't that much work, it is a good test of our systems linking to the server. We use that to help us learn the best way to create ascendant.

I personnally also share 1 tip/day on my twitter and you can find a lot of other resources on websites like infoluvial or illuvialmaster for affinities/classes and stuff

Got a question, how does the composite stuff work? Because for example I just had a match in which I had 6 earth primary and still I only got 2 granite (earth + earth) composite instead of the expected 3. Same with Enchanter (empath + psion). I had 2 empath and 3 psion and still only got 1 enchanter instead of the expected 2. And I have more examples

How to make good use of kukka ? 🤔

The Omega from Kukka Redirect the focus from arround Ally Illuvial into the illuvial hitted by the tornado (Omega from Kukka).
Can be great in backlane that join into a rogue, It give the possibility to kill a rogue without escape possible and with a lot of focus on him.

But keep in mind that this focus redirect can be negative too if you was planning to kill another unit in front and not killed before the focus is redirected.

The other usefull is that help to kill tanks. As the unit affected by the kukka omega will receive 35% from all the damage source during the CC, It can be really strong against goliant / titanor

As the error message says, you could run it without DX12 mode, which means it will run in DX11 instead. Unreal Engine doesn't require DX12 if you don't use Ray Tracing and some other graphic functions.

You should be able to start the game in DX11 mode by making a shortcut to the game and adding -dx11 at the end, Like "C:\Program Files\Illuvium.exe" -dx11 where you replace "c:\program file\illuvium,exe with the proper path to the .exe file.
Usually Unreal Engine and its games start in DX11 mode as default, so there may be a "-DX12" part at the end of the shortcut location already, in which case you remove it.

I decided to stop letting my dreams be dreams, and finally start streaming (and what better way for me to start off than with this!)

So, I managed to crunch a couple hours in late last night to official start streaming, but I will be back for more when I get off work!

I'm trying to make sure I do everything right, but I might have messed up on my first stream last night because it will only let me view the stream in 720p after publishing.

There's clearly still a lot I need to learn when it comes to streaming (like how to create tags, and how to ensure the video quality of my screen capture is the highest it can be. (If anyone can help me out with getting this set up, I would greatly appreciate it!

I definitely want to do this the right way, so forgive my lack of knowledge/experience when it comes to streaming)

Fill your board up with stage ones and slowly upgrade them to stage two this way you have a lot of Fighters on the board then from there just your set up on the board. It’s no fair fights make sure your jumping ppl

Yeah, I think the UI needs some improvement. There’s a lot on the screen at once and without the benefit of some form of tutorial (thinking similar to the LoL tutorial games when you first join) it’s hard to know what to do.
