Malura got me through a couple them rounds around 11 to 13 iirc? One of them, he was fully hyper my last man standing with 3 going to town on him with 5 seconds left. He held out until 1min 14 seconds before the timer finally stopped as there was omega after omega going off lol. Went up in my estimations massively after that performance

Hey all- Just started playing and I feel like I'm missing something fundamental as I can't make it very far through the waves. For instance, in wave 6 today, I see Vermilliare is going to jump to my backline so I position what I think is a good counter affinity in my backline with Sear... i.e. Vermilliare is Spore (Nature + Air) so Sear being Magma (Earth + Fire) should have a strong advantage correct? My hope being that Sear will make short work of Verm then bolster my front line which consists of Granite Goliant to tank against the opponent Sear (Earth + Fire) and my hunter equipped with the water sword and Alphie (Water) ranged who should both have strong advantage against their Sear. But as the fight rolls out, the Vermilliare doesn't seem phased at all by my Sear and they just battle to a draw while the other units take out my front line. (can't seem to paste an image either else I would put the screen shot up, ugh)

We've had a few discussions about these elements in #🎨〕community-content. Also, dont use only these elements as metrics to determine if a unit would have advantage. These things only pump the hyper bar faster. it doesnt determine if a unit is stronger then an other

Ya I wouldn't have Ramphyre in this early. He does well when there are a lot of enemies grouped together or he can get hyper very fast. In this case 3 of them are rouges so its not very condensed and if you sum up the affinities where he will land it minimal advantage and will take a long time to get hyper.

So selling him would free up a lot of MP. You need to look at what your missing and right now you have zero heals. a Adore and fern would be a nice replacement based on your board.

Last time and you should crush this tip is to have the Goliant recive the Ramphyite. He will go hyper fairly quick in tha position. Front line your sear and have ranger catch vermilliare.

Yess before i did the same but after discuss with good player the air shield look like the best choice

Air shield is by far the safest option especially when learning the game. There are situations where you will want to try other equipment(Example is above wave 22 today I actually went fire sword.) But there is always high risk of going full damage.

Air staff is also good if you group. It is overpowered/bugged right now so you can use that with certain comps also.

@raven obsidian might need to place your ranger further to the left so that kukkulous goes to your ranger. If kukkulous stuns your rhamphyre then he dies before he can omega. And instead of Sear you could place down Titanor. Not sure if you want Scoriox to tank the adorius like it seems you are doing.
And yeah we just places the adorius all the way back in the middle.
Not sure how much that actually changes things. He should be hitting dualeph in both cases.

Out of interest, and I know very little so I ask, is the leaderboard bugged in the sense that the person who finished the maximum waves in the quickest time should be first ? Am I right to say that that’s why some people complain the leaderboard is bugged ?

the enemy kill count is bugged. for instance, I killed every single unit, but still shows 5 less than number 1. The timer usually seems reasonable and it currently gives tiebreaks to the longer time. Funnily enough, 3 and 4 on this list have same enemy count and same time, but I got the fourth, maybe due to who did it first? Not sure.

We need clarity on this from the devs, and I think everyone would agree the fastest to finish should be number 1. It pertains to survival and will not be to pertinent to other modes for obvious reasons, but it’s hard to really determine much when we have the ability to take screenshots and not judging each other so much on time. There’s value to how it’s currently done but maybe if we could combine the timer and have it as less of an alternate way of playing, we could be a bit more accurate when it comes to who the best is. For survival at least

Never played TFT but ive played some Dota Underlords. Main difference is no randomness with characters. You have a deck of Illuvials and you can pick the ones you have enough points to play. Also placement seems much more important, you cant ride on just having a good team. You'll get rekt if everything isnt perfectly positioned.

Played TFT from beta day one. There are some similarities from the way synergies, positioning, and ultimates work. But this is substantially more complex. Having tft or dota background will help with the basics for sure 👍
