It’s scary to think how many moments like this happened before the finals and in the past, if this kind of stuff happens even in the FINALS of the main tournament. I’m let down.

There are no replay logs in the game, meaning teaming can't be detected. Even if that was the motive, securing first place in stead of putting it at risk, is of much higher value than trying to bump up your friend a place or two. The price difference from first place to the rest makes this argument pure BS, unless Slickz was in a position where he would be very confident to win regardless. This is clearly not the case.
If it had been the case, or if the tournament was not in a he check mate formate you could maybe use this argument. But in this case it litterally makes no sense.

Hey everyone! I haven't been in this chat for a while, but this situation really angered me, so I decided to voice my opinion. Firstly, in the ILV community, where we players play fair and hard, I think many of us have friendly relationships, but what slickz did was too much. In my opinion, he 100% violated the tournament rules and intentionally lowered his rating so that his friend sota could place higher. It's bad that players like slickz behave like this. Enough evidence has already been collected for the administrators to pay attention to this situation. I hope the administrators will quickly put a stop to this gross violation of tournament rules and punish the offender to the fullest extent of the law!

The question. Is still, why on earth would be prio helping Sota over going for first place? No combination of price money would be better for them than securing first place.
Only reason/situation to do this would be if he was in a very confident winning position. He was clearly not in that game at that point. Helping Sota would be putting him at big risk of multiple others resching Check position. No way he/they would be stupid enough to not go for securing first before this.

So, so far, the only argument Slickz himself and those who defend him have made is: why risk first place to boost a teammate?

1. Why do you think he's risking first place in this fight? 63 HP is three lost fights, not one.
2. He's only risking FIRST place if he's 100% sure he'll win this game. But if that's the case, then losing one fight to his teammate and then winning the lobby anyway (which is exactly what happened) is the best move in this situation.
3. If he's unsure of winning this game and this tournament, then not pushing his teammate into the top six, but keeping him alive for at least the top four, is again the best move in this situation.
   So, under what circumstances is this a risk? Only if he is confident that he can win this game, but for this he needs extra HP, look at the final situation, if he lost the fight with Spoon, he would have died even if he had not lost to Sote, the damage increases over time and the extra 21 HP that he lost in the fight with Sote would not have decided anything for him, but helped to Sota very much by points.

3. There is s case where he might think that “okay I might not win this lobby, so I might as Well help out a friend”. However there is still incentive to place as well as possible here, to keep as many others from reaching Check as possible.

Again, the incentive to secure first place is just to much higher than everything else. 1st and 8th place money is higher than any other combination.

Prioritizing a Fern to interrupt an Adoredo over a little more damage with a Jokull is a reasonable thought when your opponent happens to be heavy on tanks.

The problem is that they are both Hype. So it's easy to jump to "Team Orders" as a result.

So as it stands right now, unless I see some direct evidence via text or recording of player to player communications involving improving each other's positions, I cannot with unreasonable doubt call this team orders or match fixing.

100% there are many issues with the game, and as long as there are real money rewards (actually still happens with most type of rewards), some people will try to find loop holes to win those.
But lets keep things separate, win trading in a 50k tournament finale is a completely different thing than LB/Multi accounting etc. Again, there has been no evidence, and it looks to me to be the classic Hype which hunt more than anything else.

Illuvial level doesn’t matter in Deathmatch, TPI does. That’s why Illuvials with strong stats but lower levels are often the best fit for the game.

After reviewing the stream, discussing the situation internally, and speaking with multiple players and community members, we have decided that there is not enough conclusive evidence to officially rule this as wintrading or teaming.

I fully understand why the situation raised concerns and why many people viewed certain plays as suspicious, especially given the stakes of the tournament.
There are many possible reasons why he played the way he did. Some of them may look very bad from the outside, but there are also scenarios where this was a legitimate gameplay decision or simply an honest mistake.

The emphasis I want to communicate here is that the level of certainty required to officially rule this as collusion simply is not there.

Without that level of evidence, I do not believe it would be fair or responsible to punish players or alter tournament results.

Therefore, no competitive action or punishment will be issued regarding this incident.

I would rather receive criticism for being cautious than risk falsely accusing or punishing players without definitive proof. Competitive integrity is extremely important to us, and that is exactly why I believe rulings like this need to remain evidence-based and consistent.

At the same time, we will continue reviewing tournament rules and procedures to see whether improvements can be made for future events to reduce situations like this and improve competitive clarity overall.

Thank you to everyone who participated, watched, supported the event, and shared feedback throughout the weekend. Despite the controversy, the tournament itself was an enormous success, and we genuinely appreciate how passionate people are about competitive Illuvium.

It's something I've been debating on recently even for my own events. I don't want House League to ever have monetary prizing because it destroys the atmosphere and HL isn't meant to be a place to get super serious. But without question more serious competitions are very few and far between.

Thus, I've been debating on doing another more serious event. Still an early thought but maybe once a month and it wouldn't be anything too crazy as I'd need to make sure I'm not pulling out of my own pocket too much. It would have a small entry fee (say $5 USDC) but the overwhelming majority would go to fuel a prize pool.

The only cut I'd take is just enough to get some cheap chicken nuggets and a coffee to push me through it.

Yeah, the more that I learn the more I see that not happening. From a bigger picture perspective, I get it. Do I like it? No. But it is what it is.
I imagine everything is being run as tight as possible as an "All In" of sorts. Anything taking resources away from the all in lowers it's chance at success.

Deathmatch is the emergency revenue generator to help give the all in a better chance at succeeding.

Obelisk Rising is the all in. Everyone wanted a Pokemon MMO. Pokemon won't make it. Illuvium is. If successful it could explode. However, if that doesn't perform, I imagine all hope is lost.

Getting Arena to a good spot would make the game as a standalone great. But I don't think they believe the audience is there that would generate the revenue to warrant doing it. I'm sure they've done their research, and part of me believe that they are right. Arena is a great addition to the MMO and in a perfect world they'd have it strong as a stand alone title as well. But the funds may not be there to make that possible.

What I'm expecting now is more so something like this:
Deathmatch comes out and hopefully helps Illuvium's runway.
I hold the line with Arena through community events to keep the existing audience happy. However, no development happens towards Arena at all.
Obelisk Rising comes out and Arena will get a boon of sorts since you can re-establish the Catch in MMO, Bring to Arena dynamic.
Only if Illuvium as a whole gets into a comfortable position will we see any further Arena development.

There is absolutely a missed timing here and I hate that. Arena being ready ahead of time to hype the MMO I think would have been amazing. But I'm guessing things are that tight that they don't want to risk it

As much as I see both sides on the crypto side, in an overall dead gaming market, seeing some life in one game could bring eyes and new money/players to the Illuvium economy (and extend runway).

It seems so logical to me to make another land sale, but halve the revenue share with new land and offer speed up coins to speed buildings. This retains special value of old land sale and marketplace value. Obviously, add illuvial capture and fuse stations for revenue. Then, with each new beyond wave, reduce max points slightly to add excess value to older cards and legacy points. Market this since it is mobile. Add battle pass to both for fuel and discs.

i am not a fan of having 7 rogues but maybe its just me. I usually try to find the earth rogue and go for 3 granite and have bird fox and adoredo for support plus empaths

There should be some rules that a 3,5k ranked points cannot match with a 1,2k points. Better to create something like tiers. 1.200-1.500 -> 1.500-1.800 , 1.800-2.100 etc and then just not give people the chance at early ranked points to match a 3,5k ranked points player. Something like this would be good. Then you can still make a ranked tier 2.100-5.000+ to make sure the core community does not match with bots only , while onboarding players match with equal bots to level up illuvials. Only thing needed is some more bots across all the tiers matched with the average levels from the players inside a tier

I havent spent proper time into the MMO and all other upcoming games, will the MMO be a place to level your illuvials like in the Overworld game? Then you could see arena as a competitive addition to the ILV landscape, with the MMO as fundament to level illuvials.
But if you wanna see Arena as a separate gamemode, which we should since its such a good game, we need to make something like the tiersystem and add bots faster to matchmaking to get low tiers matched with almost only bots to learn the game and level illuvials

For example Caffeina, she will keep getting destroyed if she doesnt buy good level illuvials. Even vs bots she loses because the bots are too high level. We need lower level bots + low exclusive tiers that cannot be entered by higher ranked points players

In the past we had Illuvium Overworld where you could go out by yourself into the world and level much faster while also catching Illuvials. That since has been taken down since the ZKEVM migration as it's being revamped into Obelisk Rising.

I imagine that leveling in the MMO and then competing in the Arena is the intention

I'm not staff and can't answer questions game design wise. If anything I've personally beat the hell out of that dead horse but quality of life improvements don't directly make money so Arena Development as per the last roadmap has been completely halted.

Yes this is the epic launcher tracking it. Before that, we had to download install and play it manually, so that is not tracked in the epic launcher.

It would have to be some kind of logging they had internally if it exists.

For epic though, this is probably 85% of my play time hehe

I got whatever illuvials I got lucky to get and now I am playing and lvling with boosts on but how do I get more illuvials if I want now? I just gotta buy more? There’s no way to get them since Overworld is down?

I personally recommed doing Casual to figure out which team you like first. Then once you know what team you like, go to the Illuvidex and try to find the cheapest Illuvials you can that have 50 TPI or higher.

It is. Sadly Arena wasn't built to be a standalone game. However with Overworld gone, it's forced to be even though it isn't ready to be.

Gameplay wise when you have Illuvials and are somewhat leveled, it's incredible. Just no retention, goals, ways to get Illuvials directly in game.

100% I've been on a warpath for the last 3 months or so over this very thing. Many videos. Many streams.

But the big thing is that fixing Arena doesn't come off as something that will "make money". So it's ignored.

There is always the chance for a comeback. I understand that Arena isn't the main thing but a little help will go a long way. Arena being good for newcomers might help push Obelisk Rising too.

That’s the part that leaves me with questions, because from the outside it feels like so much of the hard work is already done… which makes me wonder if arena isn’t being ignore because it can’t make money… but because nobody is fully convinced on which direction actually solves the problem. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And maybe that’s why I keep coming back to understanding. Because tft solved that problem really well. Auto battlers are brutal by nature and players lose constantly but tft somehow makes losing still feel productive 😅 because you do understand, you adjust and you queue again. That’s not faster dopamine that’s faster learning

And if typical mobile retention frameworks need to do most of the carrying…

Why do I keep playing TFT exclusively on my phone ? Because I only play it on my phone

Learn every illuvial its most important stat, like for example resistances are important for bulwark, and look for illuvials that fit the stats

and I am a fan of the fairly simple layout and general UI.
Especially the Collection Score is great.... and It dose exactly what I have tried to ask for in feedback a few time before.
I can see my Arena team, and follow my progress on Illuvial in an easy to read overview... and after I started to use your site, I found my self trying to improve my Ranger Score, and it has become one of my main goals for now 😄

i use it all the time...there are glitches on the axon and lura

but its a great tool to fast update your deck in arena

it would be amazing, if i could take that deck and transfer it to another passport or rent it

the bulk transfer is great, it still takes forever

Also, been thinking about adding a feature where landlords create their own secondary metamask wallet and rattydata doesnt even need to use escrow at all... just auto linking and unlinking to rental game accounts... that could work well for full teams to rent where 206 illuvials live in those wallets and landlords can fully automate with set pricing without need for approvals... this could tie into collection score where renters can look up various teams and browse which to rent.

Could also be a tool for landlords, like u say, to update teams/transfer etc
