It's unfortunate. I love the change in the sense that every Illuvial matters. No big thresholds. Everything makes a difference and can give bonuses. Even have deminishing returns if you go too heavy into a certain style. But yeah some of these effects are rather...difficult. To put it nicely.

you can play it, but without any owned illuvials you likely getting rekt.

You can go into ranked right away with all of the characters for free. However your Illuvials will always remain level 1. You'll always be the underdog since those with their own Illuvials will have a stat and level advantage on you. I recommend doing Casual for the first little bit to find which Illuvials and teams you like. Casual everyone is on the same playing field. No levels or stats.
Then eventually look into getting those Illuvials you like for yourself.

you are right... most of the time, when I look at the board, my opponent's comp looks way stronger...
Gnarl / Blotto / Ophisto / Dualeph, etc... but this damn Empath just wins the fight while all the units are still alive, like it’s nothing

I don't mind the game being unbalanced. It's likely always going to have one or two synergies that outperform the rest. Just make sure these OP synergies include T4/T5 illuvials so they're hard to achieve and can be contested.

So basically the current gauntlet version is our "finished" product? He also states there will be a Web 2 version for steam which will not be related to our Arena.

I thought their level should average the levels of all player Illuvials. If you were solo in the lobby shouldn't their Illuvials be near level 60?

1st problem they scale to 250 illuvials. and my collection have only 150-170 illuvials with lvl40+. when 100 of them around lvl60.
i have to lvl-up some tier-0, and other illuvials i don't touch s1.
other problem - current scaling for bot's/ranger still a joke - so we can't just farm much exp, or don't know why it's so low.
but still - i put just random unit, and go afk, and they win = free exp, have just spend time.

How can the augment "solid start" be in the game, when there is shock (only works first 10 seconds) aswell as granite (basically useless then) and also the augment where you take 10% more damage, but do 20% more.

It would probably be a wiser investment to create a battle pass that has fuel / auto drone runs / and skins as rewards that the $$ bonus. Or both. Also a non glitch game helps. But the infrastructure is here unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Hopefully this is the lowest point and hard lessons have been learned for @umbral oracle and team by cutting costs/staff and not paying staff in ILV. Genuinely shaking my head in frustration. There are already so many counters to Psion even before this patch. Fox Charm, Fern tornado, Cling roots, Grilla Taunts, Beetle Stun it was already hard enough. Now I also have to sit through 7 seconds of no casting and no auto attacks due to 3 Dust being insanely effective but yet so easy to obtain.

Buuut 1 of my opponents who had far lowever level Illuvials has 120 omega power so must be level 20. He also has far more health and attack damage! It's unfortunate, Ascendant if all of the bugs were cleaned up and balance was adjusted would be fine. Rewards should have been the "event" to kick start it but even the rewards doesn't save players from getting curb stomped by you every game Even I quit Ascendant after rough queues leading into massively 1 sided loss over and over and over again to the point where it would have been better if I played 5 games and then stopped playing. But it's just another symptom of a small playerbase and difficult onboarding. Imo, save the reward money from Ascendant. Close it until if/when Mobile launches. It's a good mode for mobile.

The game is decent, and the graphics are beautiful. The team-building mechanics are also interesting. I personally enjoy strategy games like Arena.

However, the game still lacks strong comeback moments. I also think NFT power shouldn’t affect balance in Arena. When NFTs give power advantages, it becomes very hard to balance team compositions, and the game loses the comeback potential — which is actually one of the most important things for triggering dopamine and making the game exciting.

In my opinion, the game should make revenue from things like character skins or materials used to combine or craft characters instead.

Honestly, if you own strong NFTs and just keep winning all the time, doesn’t that get boring? There’s no feeling of losing, no frustration, no motivation to improve.

In real life we already lose to rich people. If we also lose to rich players in a game that’s supposed to be for fun, then people might as well just play Web2 games instead.

@worn tree Hi Nil! I have been doing some experimenting due to my Ranger level not seeming to work right!
I removed all the Illuvials from the Team planner/selector and my ranger went up to 127 Omega power. So I beleive that is level 27
I then added in only T0 Illuvials and my level dropped to 18 (118 Omega)
I then Added T1 Illuvials and it dropped again to I think 16 from memory, So I added Tier2 Illuvials and I dropped to 8 (108 omega)
Did it 1 more time with T3 Illuvials and it dropped to level 4 (104 Omega)
So it seems the more Illuvials I add the lower my Illuvial rank.
I should add that I have a complete collection of Illuvials, so no level 0 Illuvials and most of my Illuvials range from 30-50 in level
I havn't seen anyone else complain of this issue, so not sure if its happening to anyone else or maybe they just havn't noticed it!

try play casual game - and watch how ranger performed.
then play ranked - where he have +10% stats based on collection, but everyone around have +110%.

they'r units got lvl33-36. max units lvl i see before in game - 23. usually lvl 7-12. still think scale to low, but probably i have lvl-up everything to 40.
ranger scaling also strange - only AD and Omega scaled.
play 24 rounds. win all. got 55k exp. ussualy with all bots it's 46-48k exp with +900% boosters. probably with longer game will be better, or probably exp boosters still buged, should got more.
1 bot have 5 bulwark and ranger with rogue weapon and 5k xp. it was not easy kill him, but i play without team, just random units stage-1.

while they try fix, bugs? - i give resolve of problem.
remove everything from team planer (you still got highest lvl units in game) - got better ranger/bot's opponent - got more/real exp.

As for my team well, Overworld is hard. I put a lot of time in but no where close to the same as some of you. I caught some great Illuvials but never a "perfect" one.

I also was never in a position to be able to warrant spending. Not because the game wasn't worth it. I'm just, even still am not in a position to do so. So I rarely bought anything off the Illuvidex. If I did it definitely wasn't high TPI.

I fused only twice before my final Overworld stream. My 95 Teeantee and 89 Greater Grilla.

It wasn't in the cards then. But I look forward to the opportunity of catching more one day and maybe I can find my first perfect Illuvial

Yeah, that's why Grilla got hit with the nerf bat making its omega take much longer to charge. I imagine not having the clone count as an ally would have been the best fix but I'm guessing there is some back end stuff that makes that tough.

I've always argued Grilla shouldn't even get a statue on omega. He's a T1 with predator that drops aggro and blinks to the furthest illuvial. That's more than enough for such a cheap unit imo. If the statue is causing the devs issues with balancing just get rid of it

I've had rounds with Dualeph where he hasn't managed a single full cast. That's a T5 stage 3 rendered completely useless 🤦‍♂️. A Dualeph beam should be one of the scariest sights in the game and once started it shouldn't be interrupted. Same with ophisto, these guys should be ending games

My build as of late has just been giving Immunis Void Reactors to my Invokers and healers. Build 0 damage. Just take immunity and tank augments. I can't burst through Empath shields anyway so no point in risking a damage build

Umbre-steam? - play air, aegis - counter.
earth-mystic - invoker.

but now - only way to win - play mirror. and who got faster S2 units/go to lvl10 and got phosphorus = win.
