and don't even need scoriox... but if you hit that phosphorus with arcanite it's pretty much over for any comp. Except you face some insane stat/lvl difference

The best we can do is keep talking about it and sharing our frustration with the team. I've pinged nil several times already about this issue I suggest more people do the same. We have to put pressure on the team to fix this asap.

This augment bug has killed my desire to play.

when you have to way 20 second after killing your opponent to fast and cant move, or replace your autment.... but you can fuse them when they are not on the board etc. so weird to me

never made it to 3 even rolling 100 gold for gnarl, I had blotto and my opponent end up finishing his blotto too. sometime its just beyond crazy and beyond reasonable stats expectation.
Im hoping Acendent fixes the rng problem but after hearing that it will still have the shop im doubtful. I loved making teams and less randomness to what you get
one way to fix it, give the option to finish the last for one 25 gold
so when you have 8 of a kind you can buy the last one for sure for 25 gold

You need to reroll on low levels, and if you do that with water comp in a competitive lobby it means you don't get synalph/umbre and you get wrecked. Only other comp would be air which comes to my mind, and playing air you get wrecked anyways since it's so weak ๐

Really simplified: a system that lets you pick 1 illuvial line as your "hero" and you start the game with it.

I think you guys are overthinking the ownership part.
Players start in OW/MMO, obtains some basic illuvials, tries their luck in arena, win some lose some, realizes there is room for improvement and goes back to farming/progressing/dex.
There is enough decent illuvials on the market for viable cheap comps, or some players will choose to go as self found. In any case the ownership part is your biggest component and what's most likely to hook people and create stickiness. Ascendant 1v1 is the perfect mode for that.
What is more likely to hinder onboarding is if you do 1v1 gauntlet. It is not going to gain traction even with the hero lines. In my opinion at least
We need to have a mode where players can choose which units they want to use on demand instead of rng. This should be the ownership mode. If players spend 100$ on a unit, they would want to use it on demand. Waiting for rng and not getting it will always be frustrating, unless you own everything

is it those set in teamplaner--> Ownership, or does it check the collection and picks highest levels for each illuvial to calculate the rangers level?
It only takes into account those picked in the team planner. Those that are "Active" in the game.

It seems a bit cheap to me on the high side. 200 Fuel for 1 week seems ok I think but 4k for 90 days and 7x is a x30 for XP and x20 in price, a bonus of 50%. Probably 30/40% would be better, 40$ is not much for 3 months of 7x boost.

Even loosing 2 each one (4 rounds), does maths allows for a 5 round game? I mean, the additional 1 dmg per Illuvial doesnยดt seem important
Perhaps loosing 20 and 2/3 per Illuvial would make for more variation in the quantity of rounds.

i feel it's just too much exp for too less money, and should rather go in the direction of a continuous revenue inflow for a long time.
leveling up is currently the only progression system and make everyone max out for 40 bucks in 1 month kinda misses the revenue and also shortens the experience of progression massively.
At a first glance, it appears as if it was calculated with the old exp we got in arena which was if i remember right arround 6k a game.

it's not completely true, since you still have the high tier high stage problem getting not so many exp since they get onto the board late. but your t1/2/3 are up on lvl 60 pretty quickly
probably more like 3 days... but that doesn't make it any better ๐

Hmm, is that so? That's interesting. When I last tried the arena for t0s, I played 2 matches only with them / I won some rounds -- I lost some rounds. I finished 5th and if I'm not mistaken, I earned 9k exp for 7 illuvials... that didn't seem bad to me
my max exp for 1st place: 29k. - vs 2-4 players with lvl50-60 overall
my lowest exp for 1st place: 16k. even when won every round. vs 7 bots.
if not 1st place(2nd-3rrd): 14-16k exp, depend how much rounds won.
don't know yet, what it's depend of.

I was thinking about something like this
Each game start by each player Choosing 3 Illuvials (2 from T1-3, and 1 from T4-5), these will have 50% increased bonus change to appear in the shop... after choosing the 3 favorite Illivials (you will see what you opponent choose), you choose to "Ban" one Illuvial from your opponent shop. this can not be any of the 3 that was chosen as favorite.
It's fairly simple, but I think that could make for some more interesting gameplay ๐

and if you not come back at 3rd turn - it's game for you. and comeback or not depend only what you got in rolls.

You can consistently plan against your opponent. And get the agency to decide not to spend to see what he goes for first to counter him.
I liked new Ascendant. I never tried the old version, and I haven't played much in the Arena over the past year

I'm not a fan of 2 gold to move an illuvial. It punishes certain teams such as the one I played against you significantly more imo. Also I'm not exactly sure what problem it's trying to solve.
Free movement is the dumbest thing that was ever in ascendant. Had it not existed in the first place, ascendant would have always been good
If U like 1v1 autobattlers I recommend you try out mechabellum, it's the gold standard
The reason being is that otherwise positiong between rounds would be a full coinflip. Now moving has an implicit tax, which means you need to be weary of where you position. And you know a full switch on your opponent is worth 10 credits +

Give players one or two free positioning tokens per game to use on any planning phase they wish. Using the token allows you to move everything for that planning phase for free.

Rerolls should mostly be capped at once, at 2+ it actually grants zero benefit.
It's essentially the same thing as just giving like 8 options or whatever
1 reroll grants a choice moreso on which item to not reroll, and adds a little bit of strategy
You could even have it notify your opponent on use. So you could use the token and move or use it to bluff a move
if I was designing Ascendant it would be something like:
- simple team planner with just illuvials and ranger weapon
- ranger weapons unlocked via playing by levelling the ranger
- drone augments but just with 1 re-roll option
- live positioning
- illuvial movement with cost scaling
- remove the battle board and put the grid on the map terrain

movement costs were added in ascendant a couple patches before it was taken offline.
It certainly doesn't feel good closing off small gaps in your corner comp because a rogue snuck in last round. End up paying 10 gold reorganise you're illuvials to close a awkward gap

Try empaths, either shields are bugged or completely busted... at least feels like after playing 2-3 gauntlet games. ๐
empath now give shields only 1 time. but it's % of HP. in levi with stats, shields will be even bigger.

Having blazenite in the backline with his templaar speed getting shielded i think it's pretty strong. Have to try it out myself tho.
Also felt like for example rhamphyre omega didn't deal any damage to shields, so i guess they are bugged somehow

It's hard for me to decide what I think. It seems someone had an uno reverse card thrown into the ai when re selecting omega and composite effects lol. What were offensive are now defensive and vice versa! It's making my head spin.

Why is there 3 seconds of invulnerability as an augment when granite is a thing? I thought we'd all agreed that needed to go ๐
after like 4-5 games of gauntlet on testnet, it kinda feels a little dull.
- The augment depth got lost with removing the additional stats and the effects we have now. The OmegaPower augments feel underwhelming. And i'm not sure it's good to be able to basically have every game exactly the augments you want with now just having 3 augments each color + the reforger for the orbs
- The synergies max treshold of 5 also doesn't feel great. Instead of building actual teams, it feels like i just throw in random illuvials from 4-5 different classes and synergies to get to as many 5 treshholds as possible which i ended up having like 4-5 on average with a little luck and getting some synergy crates and if i kept loosing in the beginning so the games were not finished fast. Also don't like the proc-requirements we have on some synergies like the faints.
- Balance is hard to tell since we don't play with our own illuvials, but some synergies feel completely busted while others feel very underwhelming, looking at empaths, verdant, fire, berserker, air.
I understand that the goal was simplification, but i feel it got overshot and looking at it in general it feels like a step back in terms of game depth.
but now you can decide in mid game, which direction to move.
you build 5 nature, and then see your main opponent/most of lobby play psions - you build extra 5 air.
you see most play rog/fighters - you build extra 5 earth.
play more around much different synergy stage2 on bord. - it's good things.
but on other hands, no big reason of composite chip/rush any big synergy.
before we have special buff when build full treshold, something like big omega/big buff for your team. now even if you build 4 mud 4 berserk you not got something extra cool.
and about simplification - it's looks to much. not need even think to who give fighter/bulwark emblishment, coz everyone got buff from them. same with half augs.

Similar.. ish. You really have to look at things from entirely different angles.
For instance I am used to strategizing how to make the enchanter proc more often.. haste.. energy regen.. augs and planning to maximize your skill (proc enchanter). In the new one, it just does every 8 seconds. So all of that planning and knowledge of how to use it.. poof.
I have found dozens of this, it really is a whole different game.
So, you kinda have to go into it seeing it as an entirely different game and not compare it to Gauntlet or old Ascendent (its not that either, we should call it something else).
That's my feeling to, sweeping changes! Everything we know is invalid. Have to start from scratch really.
Is it good or bad, I don't know yet. Much simpler for sure, which should make things good for new players..... but given how much levels and stats have been buffed newbies are gonna get curb stomped out of existence

i feel the simplicity they wanted to implement for non-gamer-newcomers isn't achieved. They still get synergies, augments, drone-augments, bonding thrown into the face. Simplifying augments/synergies doesn't helpt that much in that regard, but for sure takes aways depth for the player that has spent a couple days in the game.

Feel this Ascendant mode still need some tweaking. I am not a fan of the current version. (trying to be open minded and not compare it to the old one).

I think with the synergies affecting the whole team and just getting stronger with more of them is very basic. Anyone should be able to pick that up. Compared to what we have now you are looking to maximize specific synergies on specific units at specific times etc, much more complicated.
I like this simplified for onboarding in this quick and easy game and I like the specificity of what we have now for the more end game players in Gauntlet.

All other things equal, are Illuvials with TPI = 100 stronger than TPI < 100? Or are there use cases where you'd want < 100 like with Pokemon IVs/EVs?

It's probably more optimal to have low MS on some psions and empaths as well to avoid them from going to the frontline when getting charmed

From a speculative viewpoint it's still better to have 100 TPI though, your ranger also gets stronger depending on the TPI of your collection
So purposefully avoiding high MS empaths and psions may not be that beneficial
The incentive to have low MS on them is marginal

Great to know man, I also went through weapons and omega descriptions and made them as short as possible. We had some bibles in the game, and I 100% agree that too long text/effects are extremely bad for UX and onboarding.
It can also be helpful to have a list of all the things in a wiki or documentation on the homepage for people to read through and not in the hassle of a fight where you only have few seconds to read.
We only have that spreadsheet which is basically obsolete at this point

Due to the slim team currently i think it's way less work for balancing if ascendant uses the same stuff as gauntlet and is not wildly different. You could leave whole features left out i guess to make it more simple.
To me the current patch feels like it might be best packed into a training mode every new player has to play to explain the basics before he is getting set free to do whatever he wants.
Majority of people complaining here the game is being too complex were good after i gave them the link to the public info doc hidden in this channel.
And when i ask what's missing in the tooltips the honest answer was "skipped it". Which makes sense, i always do that too ๐
I'm also not sure how many gamers actually complain about it or who the actually complainers are... we are in web3 and attract a certain audience which have never touched a game before they started "earning" in web3... anything more complex than the axie battle might be too complex...

I can even agree with erasing some augments to make the decision simpler and take down the skill ceiling a bit.
But if you really want to make the onboarding experience better, i think we can't get arround a non skipable training fight with tooltips disappearing by click but earliest after like 20 sec. so people just read it because they have nothing better to do anyways. Additionally do the wiki on the homepage as Thanatos mentioned. It's long overdue, first time promised like 2 years ago and it's really low work effort i would assume... create it so it autoupdates from the ingame changes so you never have to touch it again except new stuff is getting implemented.
Sometimes not about the UX of it, but rather if any game cant be broken down to its simplest form and still be fun, its probably not a good game.
Build a simple fun loop and then build on top of it, we havent really found that core loop quite yet, so this is a good way to achieve it
I agree with reducing complexity, but I also agree that gauntlet has never made a true effort at a tutorial or anything along those lines, which should have been critical to releasing it imo.

Having 100 Omega means all skills that scale with omega will do 100% of their damage in description.
So if an omega ability does 500 (Omega) Damage, it means it does 500 damage per 100 OP. If you have 150 OP, it does 750, if you hvae 200 OP, it does 1000.

live positioning for sure takes away a shit ton of time.
In tft, 90% of the matchups you have the same position as before, wheras in gauntlet you feel forced to get an optimal position against the opponent every single time.
Which makes tft a way more relaxed gameplay compared to gauntlet here and therfore you have time to read up on everything during the game.
The in-game wiki/encyclopedia would be such a great update

I was thinking about new players instead, I like theorycrafting before playing a game and it's more convenient to have it on the main menu right away

I've been really excited about Illuvium for years. Came back recently and gave Arena a shot. Played 1 game and closed it. No tutorial, way too complex, I had no idea what was doing on. Back to Axie ๐
I also don't really have time as a parent for 30-45 min games on a daily basis and that's a huge detractor from wanting to get involved at all. Why spend all kinds of money on Illuvials and collectibles and such if I can only play 1-2 games per week? I imagine I'm not the only person in the limited-time-boat

The new simplified synergy system is great for 1v1 quick ascendant games, but it's pretty lame for the Gauntlet. It's just too watered down for high end play.

usually bigger patches get uploaded to testnet first where they can be tested by community, mostly for finding gamebreaking bugs so those can be eliminated before going live on mainnet.
Changes based on community feedback are always taken into consideration aswell.
Will it be like the original ascendant I can use any unit build any team no restrictions. I only ask because I want to prepare properly so I can kick ass in the ascendant arena. I wanna buy and spend more money on a new team specifically for ascendant

I donโt understand the TPI boost or bonus the higher level TPI the more damage bonus it does?
Question regarding ascendand:
Losing a fight deals 25 base damage, plus 1 additional damage for each enemy unit still standing
Unless I have 9 units surviving like 3 times the additional damage never matters. So it will just always be 4 losses and your out, right?

Thought about if it would make more sense if ot was 20 + additional units, because it would matter. But that would make early game builds harder to play

i think it depends on the item.
When you see qty (quantity) you can send multiple items at once by clicking on the white arow. If you don't see that i don't think you can send multiple at once, at least i haven't found it yet.

This was in the latest announcement.
There have been some issues with the IMX Migration process, and it's taking them longer than initially anticipated. They are also unable to complete the migration of ETH, ILV, and USDC balances before February 25th.
I think we should be able to add ETH to the wallet but I am personally waiting until everything has been fully migrate.
you can bridge funds accross from other EVMs in the illuvidex just follow the guide that pops up

ok you App guys what i want and what ilv needs is a way to seriously flex our iluvials .....my collextion is complete ...but i would like a way to display my max level and max stats iluvials in my collection i.e if i have 10 axadonds i want to display my max adaxon there should also be aleaderboard tied to thsi

It works as follows:
- You have 5 atlas.
If you don't pick any, the game will automatically select the highest level one for you, and that one will count towards active ownership.
Your ranger level will always reflect the active ownership illuvials of each type you are using that game.
Does it mean that the level of my ranger is dynamic within the game, in other words does it change depending on the illuvials that I choose to put on the board in every game?
Negative, the ranger level is static, and is calculated at the start of each game.
On game start, the system takes a snapshot of your active ownership illuvials from your entire collection. You might not be using a Kukkaraph in the entire game, but his active ownership is being used for your ranger level.
What if you have a lot of doubles? Does it still take the average or just the highest level of each illuvial?
It always picks the highest level by default if you don't select it otherwise in the team planner.
If you have 3 atlas, one lvl 20, one lvl 40 and one lvl 60. Unless you pick the lvl 20 or lvl 40, it will always default to the lvl 60.
Can someone clarify this augment for me please? Does it do a % of your opponent's max health as damage or deal a % of your max health as damage?
