Current system feels a bit bad, it’s becoming frustrating to drop elo even if you have a positive w/l ratio. Personally I got lucky with a nice win streak the first day and got to around 1700… but instead of stopping, I have been playing different comps, some better then others 😆
And resulting in dropping below 1400, and it almost feels like getting stuck in “quicksand” the more I play the harder it gets…
(Only have 50% winrate from last 20 games, but still result is about -100 elo)… even with win2/loos 1 is not necessarily resulting in a positive elo….

I know it should help alot with a larger player base and a meta this is not as “rock/paper/scissor” and hopefully its not enough to copy a “youtube meta deck” and “flowchart play” it exactly the same every game. 😁

Everyone is starting to cry now that there are rewards on the line. The elo system hasn't really changed. And to the people complaining about the meta. There are like 5 decks being played now adays:

Tsunami Enchanter(like 3 variations)
Bloom Bulwark
7 fire ramphyre
Bull Psion
Mud beserkers(Multiple variations)

If anything this may be some of the most diversified I have seen in a while. maybe the meta is more solidified at the higher ranks, at mid 1500's right now. I have only played 5 games played toward an account.

Honestly I'm loving the fierce competition and the hard grind. I just wish I had more time to play.

I also want to give a shout out to the devs and say this game is still a lot of fun to play. I can only imagine as it gets more refined it will get better. Keep up the work team I know y'all are under a lot of pressure!

You used more mastery points that you actually had. That is an economy bug. the game says you have 300 mastery points but you actually have 120. If you surpass 120, then you get the error.

feedback to improve this shitty ranking system and matchmaking :

during the week (Not at the end before snapshot) the quantity of players that play is really low. it's possible to be matched 4-5 times a row against the same. and reduce match manipulation.

• Define some Ranked Open sessions and close the rest of the time can be splitted for the different timezone. The player base is not big enough to let people playing all day long.
• Create a bag of player before making them tag. I remember playing LineageII Where there was Olympiads for 4 hours / day. the system was waiting some minutes for the players to subscribe for the next match. then it was launching all the game in the same time. In this way, you could even filter the ELO and make more fair games (From ELO perspective, f* smurf won't be removed to that).

Isn't this solved by just having more players? The issues with matchmaking will be fixed once more and more players are onboarded. So this is something game designers need to work on to make the game balanced and marketing to reach more people outside our current ecosystem

generally affinities and classes are the focus than stacking 1-2 high tier illuvial mid-late. But honestly id start with mimicking mine or others youtube videos first and youll kind of learn from that why some things are good

Question about Magma:
Do the effects of the fields stack? For example Magma 2 gives 8 grit and resolve and does 30 energy damage per second.
If an illuvial stands in 2 of those fields - does it add up?

1. I posted this a while ago, before releasing the patch, but the problem with Quantum Nullifier is not fixed yet. There is a core problem impacting multiple things, such as Mirrored Legendary. It will take some time to address this properly.
2. The bug with sell & replace is fixed. It's not mentioned in the patch notes specifically because we had many issues impacting the Mastery Points, so we have only one line for this. (the first from the Bug Fixes section).

You know, what makes me the happiest about this is that we finally get to see a consistent mechanic to counter aa based teams.

In the current patch we were seeing so fucking much berserks and not really a clear counter for them. Frost is designed to counter aaers, so that makes the meta circular

Add to the mix the fact that we have now augments balanced (by the way I love that they don't scale linearly, it opens much more decision making otherwise it was a no brainer going for the higher cost unless you wanted to fit MP curve), and we get a great patch.

Maybe few tweaks here and there, but I see a very circular meta

So, right now I hated augment system because costs were 20-30-40 and the effects scaled proportionally. Say 20 attack, 30 attack, 40 attack. Now augments are build so that lesser versions give more effect cost ratio wise 25 attack, 30 attack, 35 attack. So you pay less for the augment, but get a higher benefit effect/cost ratio wise.

In a limited slots deck, you will seek to maximize raw power, so unless you want to adjust to the curve, in a linear augment system you would always go for the higher cost one. This is what basically happened in current meta, unless the augment was so meta defining that you were running 2-3 copies of lesser versions. Now, with the unlinear scaling you really get to think, other than raw power wise, if you prefer to cap up your scaling potential in trade of having stronger turns earlier.

I don't know if you are following me so I will make a quick example.

Now imagine you are in front of round 5, all your 8 illuvials are placed and it's time to get some augments on the board. With a linear system, it only makes sense to go with the higher cost ones so that you can keep on deploying them in further turns. Now, with the unlinear scaling, you can decide to play multiple 20 cost augments. This means that with 160 MP, you can play either 4 40 cost augments, or 8 20 cost augments. If you go for the cheap versions, since these have better effect/cost ratio, they will provide you a stronger turn than if you played 4 40 cost ones. The issue? You burn your deck slots faster so it's a tradeof between explosive turn 4-5 or sustained scaling into turn 6-7. Now we have more agency than before.

After the leaderboard went live, your rank got soft reset. That's why winning/losing the first 10-20ish games swings your ELO a lot.

So if it's your 2nd game, you should expect a huge gain/loss on wins/losses. In this case, you lost (forfeited).

Yep this patch it's trash.

Without HP regen it can't tank. And without the immune augment, it gets countered by Frozen, Siphon, mud, stun, etc.

Even though there are mostly very similar decks out there currently, I do think there are more options on the legendary augments than before. I had multiple rounds so far, where all augments were actually valid for both teams.

Quick feedback:

Jotun omega animation tends to cast on dead targets A LOT.

We are facing another meta stagnation issue. When I say that, I mean, meta that is countered by itself. Mud-Berserk dominion, Tsunami-leecher dominion, and now Frost-Behemoth dominion.

This is unavoidable in some way, as there always will be units that have this selfcountering affinities/classes (i.e: Monkier, Jotun, etc.). So this is why it is so important to have everything balanced (definitely not easy). Right now, Frost-Behe is so OP that not even hyper counters like verdant, wildfire, bloom, are capable of dealing with it properly.
