toxic deals pure damage to all nearby enemies, you cant negate it, so you either need to kill them fast, or heal through the toxic dmg

if you can hold the toxic units at the front with some good tanks, and have your ranged dps away out of the toxic range it may help

Thorns is for when your illuvial is being attacked. The thorns stab the enemy that is attacking your illuvial.

Pure damage ignores all damage reductions that an enemy might have.

If he generate a tonne of energy he can keep ulting and you cant hit him at all

So got to prevent him from stacking alot of energy regeneration or killing it early

Either dont let your opponents keep taking the energy generating cards and don’t let him attack your backline and generate energy for free

Once he ults he becomes untargettable and it becomes hard from then on

Later down the road a sandbox mode where you could play every illuvial on both sides and watch them fight would be absolutely insane and awesome for learning every little detail.

Granting 50hp bonus and nothing else per takedown, very un meaningful upgrade

I propose a different idea

Toxic 2: 1 poison per 2 seconds 150 health
Toxic 3: 1 poison per 1.5 seconds 200 health
Toxic 4: 1 poison per 1 second 250 health

the healing is just an added little benefit, not its main source of strenght

Depending on the deck a high effect. For example removing a Ramphyre can change a fight drastically.
Would add fun to matches and motivate to adjust tactics VS playing a specific playbook that works well over n over again for strong decks

Not an oversight, more a deliberate compromise. The community demanded PvP as soon as possible, we've done everything possible to build it as expeditiously as possible. As a result PvP was finished before the Tutorial.

One of the compromises with a DAO, I personally would have not released until we had a tutorial but it's not up to me! If you feel it was a mistake, feel free to be vocal about it to the next round of council people.

Omegas can't be dodged afaik. But you have some Omega abilities like Scoriox that increase attack speed of the illuvial. So you can dodge the faster auto attacks it gets during an Omega.

Have you got those augments that reduce healing of target hit, so maybe a assassin or two go round back and just one at a time take out an illuvial that has massively reduced healing. Energy drain and aoe stuns should help too and resistance reduction to help pump out higher stabler damage maybe

no, it triggers once at when max stacks are reached. If the unit is able to remove the poison stacks, and then the max stacks are reached again, then the debuff will be reapplied. Most of the time, units will reach max stacks at some point and just trigger the debuff once.

I may need to do a little further testing with the poison stuff. Poison does wear off naturally over time, so if the stacks fade, and are then reapplied later, that should reapply the debuff as well. But I think in practice, usually poison keeps getting reapplied, effectively refreshing the poison duration, and not reapplying the debuff. It can get a bit confusing.

Alright so I found a build that was pretty powerfull. I was winning constantly for a while.

Until after I lost against a couple players, the obvious algorithm finaly understood what type of build was my counter and which player could beat me. And now all I get are the same 3 or 4 players in repeat.... This is highly unfair I've been playing against thsoe same peeps for easily 6 or 7 time out of 9.

It reeks of algorithmic manipulation SBMM style and I'm fairly certain people will run away from this the moment they realize this is in place.

The system needs to learn what is strong and weak against you. and basicaly given how strong my build is currently. I guess It's stronger than 85% of the current player base and once it found a build / player. It start pitting you against those in order to bring you back to a more " balanced " win / lose ratio.

Really go have a look at the FDC 2017 about Elo system and how they work.

thanks, but i cant really take full credit, it was a team effort where we crafted and tested all the decks and positioning against eachother, could have gone either way in the final matches against eachother... i think it's even cooler that we both won the winners bracket where between the two of us we havent lost to anyone else but eachother

Nothing wrong, there is a just a hidden rating behind the scenes, of where the system thinks you and your opponent should be, relative to your current rank

Especially as the ladder is still fresh this is common until people settle into their respective ranks

Water gains points against earth and fire.

Yep, instead of taking into account the both affinities, you just choose which affinity you want the Illuvial to have.
It works exactly like a primary affinity, you ignore the other affinity for the entire fight.
Water -> +2 against earth, + 1 against Fire
Earth -> + 2 against Fire, + 1 against nature.

Well with 5 decks the game should target getting as close to possible to always having a winning strat though I guess it’s not possible apparently and just a flaw of the genre? Maybe decks are built of say 35 cards but you only bring in 28-30 in the future to let you swap out augments and gear but not illuvials? Something that wouldn’t take forever to adjust yet give you the flexibility needed. Or just more cards in a deck in general. I think dedicated ranger gear slots would be nice at least since I don’t care to waste slots on them over illuvials and augments atm

there is definitly a degree of competence that is expected to be able to ahve 5 decks that cover most if not all angles

im just saying that adapting on the spot, even tweaking the same deck that you just lost with can make the differene

and pre-registered decks just lock you into a potentially losing position when theres no need for it

thats why i say its tricky because people definitely can steal decks that are shown on stream

or counter them perfectly

I guess it’s a part of the game, though with a good system you can register on the database but not have it be viewable by other participants so you can try to hide your decks as long as possible.

Also just setting the tournaments up then so every few rounds there is a dedicated deck adjustment period that isn’t viewed as a delay might work.

Plenty of options and beyond that I think if someone just happens to be your counter it’s luck of the draw.
