Yes... but only if they are written specifically to be a legally binding contract with clearly defined legal terms of delivery of something between parties, the same as any traditional contract would be drawn up. But the staking 'contract' is not a legal contract. The word 'contract' here is misleading with reference to the 'smart contract staking'. It is better thought of as 'executable code', nothing more.

Yeah, contracts generally aren’t always taken at their exact word though, extraneous circumstances happen and the law acknowledges this. For example if a car company is supposed to deliver 1000 vehicles by a certain date but their factory burns down 2 weeks before with all the cars inside, they aren’t guilty of a breach because the problem was outside their control. They just have to make a good faith effort to deliver as soon as possible. I would say the team has certainly made an effort to repair the situation and everything should be fixed real soon.

Yes. Revdis accumulates a lot like yield farming rewards. You will need to pay gas to claim them. But when you claim them the go straight to your wallet.

i had some reading on similar defi exploits cases.

1. your car company example, is a case of force majeure. Usually the contract will spesifically mention what is deemed as force majeure events and how to remidiate it, such as insurance policy to cover damages.

2. The staking smart contract is a contract between 2 parties by definition. There was obligation (token staked), reward (apy), duration of contract and terms of payouts.

3. Lets use the term "code is contract".
   Both parties agreed to the code. Any possible exploits, or "loophole" irl, was agreed upon. So there is no victims or thiefs here, just executing how the code was written. This is a PSA that any exploit risk on smart contract is agreed upon when you signed it off.

4. However, there is a possible breach when stakers are not able to see or claim their rewards. Because the code was intended for the stakers to claim. The act of removing such access is what we are assessing, not the exploit.

Thx 🙂 yeah they need to be connected if you want to stake/hold ILV using a Ledger. It's pretty simple. After you setup your Device with Ledger Live and downloading ETH app on it, connecting it to MM is just a button in MM setting “connect hardware wallet” and done.

The idea is that the price starts higher than most people want to spend, and drops over time. It's still possible you'll spend more than normal gas, but it won't be anything crazy like 300 gwei.

When YOU decide the price is right on a plot, you hit buy, and it's yours. Unless other people decide the price is right at the same time, you won't have to worry about setting high gas prices.

Guys, when I deposited my LINK for the flash pool months ago, i did not withdraw it during the staking v1 pause because of the wording, withdrawals would effect rewards, so i ignored the withdraw button. I havent upgraded yet but in my dashboard all of the flash pools are grayed out without a withdrawal button and doesnt not show a balance for it? In the vesting rewards for the ILV pool I have many transactions that amount to what is ILV dust, e.g., 0.0045 ILV here, 0.01 ILV over there, that were automatic claims whenever I claimed previous rewards in the ILV/ETH pool. Not that it is important now, but hopefully there will be a way of aggregating these various amounts in the future, otherwise given the gas to claim them they would really be lost.
