Hey Fede-- yes, Illuvium and its marketplace for in-game Illuvials and resources will be built on IMX 🙂

The NFTs that are for sale on Opensea are not in-game illuvials. But moreso, just cosmetic or collectibles.

The skins are for your drone, Moz4rt. And there are emotes which can likely be displayed to your opponents in battle. The others are just collector's NFTS 😄

I had an interesting thought today while playing Pokemon Arceus.

I was like, there's no way people can run around catching all the animals, there'd be none left!

Then I started thinking about sustainable fishing practices, and how scarcity of real world food animals (and hunted animals) is a constant battle in the real world.

This led me to thinking about scarcity in an NFT farming game, where the principles are pretty similar, but supply is finite. How does it even scale? If there are only x fish, then overfishing NFTs would be a huge issue.

Has anyone considered DYNAMIC scarcity in these nft hunting games?

Of course, this only really matters if NFTs are eaten

The only issue with my train of thought is that NFTs are hoarded more like gold than mortal beasts.

What ends up happening though, is eventually the NFTs are fished out, so more supply is created in some fashion (new beasts, new types, new release, etc) but the old ones stay alive and their value is diluted unless subsequent NFTs are just smaller or less powerful over time to match the dilution of value.

BUT, if NFTs ultimate value is in being "eaten" to provide ultimate satisfaction (mmm sushi), then you would not need to worry about power lessening over time, you would just need a keen algorithm that keeps available supply at the most rewarding percentages (this could even be a mystery for even more intrigue, let people figure out available supply through how often they're actually encountered or caught)

Anways, I think sustainable food practices would be a fantastic place to look deeply for inspiration for a sustainable model for Illuvium's NFTs. Just wanted to put it in here before I lost the train of thought.
