It will be timed, and you just play match after match moving up or down the ladder until time runs out and the person with the most points win. We even have plans to use a 'berserk mode' where you can sacrifice Placement Points (each illuvial costs something to play on the board) for a bonus if you win. So if you think you are really good you can subtract some points and still try to beat people.
