How NFT's, Illuvials etc will be stored?

On chain or off chain?
I mean, images will be stored within the token itself?

Or off chain files hosted externally?

NFT media are always stored off chain, the metadata of the links leading to the media is stored on chain, if im not wrong? also there are decentralised file hosting services to store media more safely so that NFTs dont end up leading to dead links

I mean most of them store NFT off chain, but Larva Labs with their new collections store images within tokes. That's persistence for thousands years.
