Yes, there are two things we are doing differently. BLP's prevent gas wars in the beginning (to the best of their ability). And we are allowing stakers to redeem rewards when they have accumulated an appropriate amount, that they can afford to pay in GAS fees. Meaning, you don't lose your rewards if you don't claim them each week. Although it will require some game-play, this shows the protocol that are invested in the game.

So I just learnt something from the tokenomics article that ive read 20 times... You can turn yield from staking into sILV?

I initially thought it was only in-game yield that you could cash in for instant in game currency, such as from tournaments

Since in game you would win ILV you would need to stake those to get sILV or sell them for ETH

Also don't forget that you forgo your ILV rewards from staking if you choose sILV and the ILV will never be minted
