you will battle against Illuvials and if you defeat them and you have empty shards you get to catch them but this is not always successful if I got it right

Pvp will be rolled out pretty soon after game launch as an Arena where you can bet for victory and one where you don't

This game will make it to esport for sure lol. Imagine pokemon battles where pokemon actually are worth something outside of the game

I believe it will be browser based, however you'll have an initial download to help with that. Also the battles won't be ran on Unreal Engine. It's all based off of math and once the Illuvial teams are submitted that math will be run in the background and the battle determined automatically. Then the Illuvials will just do their thing in game. So the system and requirements won't be huge and you shouldn't need a top of the line gaming system to run it. Although we don't have any official requirements out yet.

Heres a simple guide to the ILV token. Or at least I think its pretty simple.
20% VC/Angel Investors - Seed investment, was very high demand, they got to handpick the best investors for this round it seems.
15% Team - Founder and team member allocation of tokens, pretty standard
15% Treasury - Used to fund future development, eventually likely controlled by DAO
10% Launchpad (BLBPs) - Public Sale amount via Balancer Launch pools
40% Yield - With 32% paid out to Liquidity providers in the ILV/ETH pool on Uniswap, and 8% allocated to those LPing in other pools that will be chosen over time. You can up to double your staking weight by locking tokens in the pool for up to a year, effectively doubling rewards.

Some may be concerned 10% is low for the initial sale to players/public, but consider most of the other tokens will be locked for 1 year, and slowly release over the next year, its likely that BLBP buyers will dominate yield farming rewards for the first year and a bit, while more will be distributed to players via gameplay. So its quite likely that by the time distributions of yield rewards are finished after 3 years, the amount allocated to players is closer to 33%.

100% of game revenues are put into the Illuvium Vault and used to buy back ILV from the Liquidity providing pools mentioned above, effectively sharing all revenue with stakers in the pools. Everything from buying shards (think pokeballs for actually catching Illuvials), revives, exchange/wager/crafting fees, cosmetics sales such as skins, and quite a lot more. This is huge and they are the first game to really take things to this level with their token.

The balancer pool they are using is a way to achieve a relatively fair launch, here is the disclaimer another launchpad project put on their project and I expect something similar from ILV when the time comes. “ The Balancer LBP is not like a regular Balancer pool. The price will start very high to disincentivize bots, front-running and speculation. Over time, the price will automatically decrease by design. IMPT: DO NOT PURCHASE APY TOKENS TOO EARLY OR YOU WILL GET REKT.”

Basically they will open up a liquidity pool with 1,000,000 ILV in it, and over the course of a few days/weeks the price will gradually decrease until its all bought or it reaches the minimum ratio. All you will need to buy is a metamask wallet and some ether.

You will be airdropped NFTs based on how much ILV you purchase in the launch event. Some will be given out based on how much you buy, others will be given out purely randomly. Everything from very rare holo set 1 Illuvials to cosmetics and short term buffs like potions.

Sale targeted for late march.

Can someone explain what "pool weight" ratios mean in the medium article? It's mentioned both in the Balancer pool and in the yield farming sections but I couldn't find any explanation of it.

This is ILV distribution over time, not lock up. The chart shows the accumulative total ILV over time. Notice how the first few colours are all straight? That's because they receive their tokens and then nothing happens to them. The only areas of growth are the yield from the pools. Does that make more sense?

A pool weight means how much influence a pool has over the total yield. There are a certain number of coins to be distributed each block, and those get split up based on the weights. You can think of them as percentages. But the reason we don't use percentages is because that would start to make no sense when you add in the flash pools.

A weight of 0.8 means 80% if the total weight is 1. (0.8 + 0.2). But lets say we added in a flash pool with weight 0.1. This would mean the total weight is now 0.8 + 0.2 + 0.1 = 1.1. Now that weight of 0.8 works out to be about 73%. Does that make sense?

This is how protocols tend to do these things. They don't talk in percentages. Only in weights.It can be a little confusing because sometimes weight can refer to the number of coins in a pool or something like that.
