This happened all of a sudden. I was able to launch the game without it crashing previously.

CPU: Intel Core i7 13700k
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080

I tried a few of the fixes provided in this forum:

  1. i tried launching game through nvidia, no luck
  2. after installing VC++ Runtime the game would still crash after opening it.
  3. i tried William Berghs recommendation, renaming file to "Teardown-disabled" and downloading the game again.
  4. i tried running the game in safe mode. -safe.
  5. from path: C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Teardown\log.txt
    i am getting error:

0000 00:00:00.330267 ERROR a354 [NoTag|Render] Can't load shader cache, platform is wrong 'x64_dx12', expected platform is 'x64_gl'

i tried -force-opengl or -force-glcore in launcher options, no luck

Hi,
Currently no folder exists under this path.

🤔
Then try switching to OpenGL.

  1. Press win + r, write %localappdata% and press enter.
  2. Enter in the 'Teardown' folder and open the options.xml file with a text editor.
  3. Look for the '<gfx>' category and change '<gfxapi value ="1">' to '<gfxapi value="0">'. Eg of how it looks like:
    <gfx>
    ... <- [More options]
    <gfxapi value ="1">
    </gfx>
  4. Try to launch the game again.

If the value is already set to "0" change it to "1"

# proper temple hi, any updates to his situation? he is still crashing, 3 others have the issue ...

See if you could send over the crash logs, if the zip is too big it might need to be sent over Google Drive, Dropbox or similar.

  1. Make a new folder on the desktop
  2. Press Windows+R, which should open a small window in the bottom left corner
  3. Type each line shown below, e.g., "%localappdata%\CrashDumps" in the dialog box, and press enter, repeat for all locations.
  • "%localappdata%\CrashDumps"
  • "%localappdata%\Teardown\crash"
  • "%localappdata%\Teardown" (look for log.txt)
  1. Copy all files in the folders you've opened to your new folder on the desktop
  2. Right-click the new folder, select "send to", and choose compressed (zipped) folder
  3. Make the new .zip file, and send it as an attachment (over DMs)

The dxdiag file also contains some system information. Here's how to create one:

  1. Press Windows+R, which should open a small window in the bottom left corner
  2. Type dxdiag and press enter, answer yes to the pop-up to accept that it collects system information
  3. Let the program finish. There will be a green progress bar in the lower left corner of the window
  4. Click the "Save all information" button, save it to the desktop or somewhere you can find it later
  5. Attach the dxdiag.txt file (to the DM)

Hey to update you, the OP told me he couldn’t find crash logs.

But I have an update including those 3 friends who kept crashing and had to spam (they tried this once idk if it will work again but we plan to play later in the day)

  1. They went on system, display, graphics and put the game on high performance
  2. Guessing the game was using integrated graphics and it was switched to main nvdia gpu
  3. Mine was set to high performance for all games automatically so I had no issues

So in general,

A. OP launched game once and in multiplayer server for 1 min, it worked no crash (will test more later)

B. 3 friends who had to spam launch, only one was avaible to test, he did the same as above and it stopped crashing and worked on 1 launch (again just for 1 min and he had to close the game, more tests later)

My system task manager shows gpu 0 and gpu 1

One being my nvdia gpu the other is “amd raedon gpu” similar to my friends but mine was set to my nvdia gpu

Also, currently untested in the new nvdia driver update which came out today
