"ban" issue

THIS IS NOT FROM A ADMIN/BANNING MOD.

somehow I keep on getting teleported to "random" (typically spawn) spots where I am unable to move more than a few feet in any direction before being teleported back (assuming the location is on land and not in the void somewhere). The weapon is also locked to the sledge and whenever changed, almost instantly changes back to the sledge. The camera and spawning works fine, howver I seem to be invincible.

I have only started experiencing this today and has happened in multiple servers

rejoining and restarting don't work, hoever there's a delay before it happens when rejoining

I would not be surprised if this was from someone hacking/exploiting

TLDR:

• teleported (not dragged like with rubber banding) into a spot (spawn or void), cant go far without tping back
• can't switch weapons, instantly switched back
• invincible, still visible
• rejoining in anyw ay doesn't fix, starts again after a few seconds ish
• may be someone hacking/exploiting

my guess is its a hacker

i had issues with users who would join, then a few seconds later i has all your same issues

(teleporting to spawn and stuff)

actually i know its a hacker

one time i was using easychatmod

i suddenly couldnt chat

and the hacker somehow made me say vulgar things

before crashing the server

so yeah definitely a huge issue, luckily its stopped and i found some ways to stop their hacks

the only things i got:
teleporting to spawn
server crashing
teardown files corrupting so i gotta revalidate steam files
them using the chat mod to make it look like i said bad stuff

oh and if you find whos hacking tell me

That is a diff issue but does prove hackers for the game exists

but he didnt join at all this time even when my server got hacked

It would be interesting to see the logs when something like this happens 🤔, if any of you find someone breaking the game session like this I'd be happy to get the logs generated.

To find the logs, press Windows+R and paste in "%localappdata%\Teardown", look for a file called log.txt. You'll likely need to send it in DMs since files can't be added here.

Does this file always log? Or only when the game crashes

The last time I played the game this happened so finding whatever happened shouldn’t be hard unless the file is massive from the multiple hours I have in MP

I'm not seeing much in the file

I can see me leaving and rejoining the server when it happened

but nothing seems to have happened after I joined

they put it in their files

load it in game, and the server dies

I was testing this and the only thing I managed to do is spawn an entity that only I can see, they didn't even spawned with scripts included. And I didn't found a way to do a ServerCall from there, every attempt was rejected, maybe if a mod the host enabled have a backdoor it could be possible to do it. 🤔

Maybe server call is not defined outside multilayer mod folder

Its likely the serversided things like chatting, changing maps, etcra is a vulnerability of a mod itself

And its using servercall to input info

Would be useful to make honeypot servers to see how they did it

Looks like ServerCall only works with server defined functions like server.explosion. If you modify for e.g explosionclient.lua to include server.explosion, it won't be created in the server side because only the host can create server funcions like server.explosion. If he restarts and every script gets reloaded, it won't be created anyway because you're not the host. The host need to have the modified explosionclient.lus for this to work. That's why I said this maybe can work if a mod the host enabled has a backdoor.

can you try making a multiplayer server and put any mod and then join w client, with normal non modified script (the server mod) then after joining modify the script, and get host to restart the game

i wanna see if it has the mods differ from host error

or if thats just a check for when you are first connetcing
