low fps and low gpu and cpu usage

im considering upgrading to a RTX 3060 or RTX 4060 but the thing is that not even all gpu is being used on my gtx 1650

and like it happens on other games to such as Totally accurate battle simulator

Shouldn't be as low as 30% usage but Teardown is never using 100% of the gpu or cpu for me, teardown can only use one cpu core fully at one time so the cpu can't be 100% usage ever

My gpu is used 60-80% most of the time when playing since the main bottleneck is cpu

but that's the thing, neither my cpu or gpu get to like even 20% most of the time even when there are big things happening in the game

i can run most of my games smoothly, but when it comes to physics simulation like teardown people playground etc and even tabs it just drops the fps and the gpu doesnt go up

Gpu doesn't handle the physics/destruction so when big destruction happens your gpu will actually drop in usage as your cpu usage goes up

I don't think your usage should be THAT

ok but even the cpu just stays super low

like i guess that my gpu is the bottle neck so it limits my cpu i guess, but both of them just stay so low

like anyway im considering upgrading the gpu but im kind of afraid to do so because what if it doesnt solve the issue and i spent that money

Both your gpu and cpu is the bottleneck

Your gpu can't reach 100% usage when you have low fps

Teardown usually sits between 30-50% gpu and 30-100% cpu

pretty sure 100% cpu usage is impossible

max I can get is 40% for a few frames

@spring umbra Teardown is very laggy in general, everyone lags in this game, I think what you are experiencing is normal, upgrading your cpu and gpu would definetly help, cpu would help for the lag when destroying stuff

but like even if i destroy a whole building then the fps will drop to like 1, and it makes sense sure it is to be expected, but the cpu should go up even if to like 40 ou 50%, and it just stays at like 18%

I can destroy a whole building and go to 0fps and my cpu will only go up to 40% at the very most

I'm assuming since you have a lower end cpu it won't be able to get full usage as compared to a higher end cpu (in teardown)

Maybe you have a slight problem but most of what your problem is actually normal for everyone

usually i get a good amount like 50 or so i would say, even if im already destroying some things but nothing too big

ok thank you!!!! one last question, if i were to upgrade the gpu in the end, considering that right now i have a gtx 1650, should i get the rtx 3060 or i could go to the 4060?

because like ive seen that a lot of people dont like the 4060 when it was released

I hope you didnt buy your gpu yet, but a 4060 is better. it lacks vram, which is problematic, so you should aim for an AMD gpu if that matters to you
