Hey all! My first time posting something like this so sorry if I sound hella stupid. But I have a concept I’d like to include in my D&D campaign, which are Gunblades! If you’ve ever played Final Fantasy, I’m sure you know where this is going, but essentially, I’d like to include an item into my setting that is rather common in the specific region the campaign takes place in. Gunblades are a fusion of any melee-weapon with a simple gun. There are variations, such as a shotgun or different elemental “cartridges”, but the main concern is of course the balancing. It would have to do some additional damage, maybe a d4 or d6, and its range would have to be shorter range. For example, if someone wanted to just shoot with the Gunblade, it’d count as a ranged weapon attack that they’re proficient in. The range would be short; I’m thinking no less than 15 feet. The intention isn’t for range, it’s purely aesthetics and additional melee damage.
Does anyone have any tips or ideas they’d like to share with me? I’d appreciate any friendly critiques! Thanks!
